This is a band I’ve recently become infatuated with....

Miki and Emma were the “Ginger and Mary Anne” of Shoegaze.
:^) "A Lotus on Irish Streams" and "Lila's Dance" are among the local files; I've had all the LPs since, hmm, perhaps 1979? 1980? Got them used, in a bunch, after reading a scathing reference to them. :^) I torture my coworkers with these two tracks. There were also those Paco De Lucia, Al Di Meola, and John McLaughlin collabs, which showed that dear old John really wasn't up to the same standard. There's a pretty good live version of "Mediterranean Sundance" from what appears to have been close to the end of Paco's life, I stream that off YT.

I’ll try ‘em later. The ambient stuff I’ve found using “ambient music full album site:youtube.com” has been a mixed bag, but I’ve consistently like Desert Dwellers.
“Lila’s Dance”l and “You Know You Know” still send shivers down my spine whenever I hear their opening measures.
.
If you like the offbeat but tuneful XTC, you might like the song “Sisyphus” by Andrew Bird.

Yes. The Grateful Dead were fantastic. I was lucky enough to see them in 1989.
I havent visited this thread in a while, but..
Jethro Tull - Thick As A Brick
Im sure its been mentioned already though...
IIRC, Thick As a Brick was originally meant by Ian to be a parody of Prog Rock.
