Pinging the List.
Starting late this year.
Just got 34 onion bulbs planted this afternoon. Some in the ground, some in buckets. They were already sprouting in the bag, some of them.
$3 for the whole lot at WM. They grow pretty well. I set them with Miracle Gro and some Epsom Salts.
Last year, same kind went through 2 snows and two sub-32F temps - still grew like weeds.
Hope to get a few peppers (jalapeno, G/Y/O/R Bell, etc.) going for a small planter. Gotta get some more starter pellets.
Rose bushes are putting on a HUGE show here in Mandeville , La. branches are weighed down with all of the flowers ! The pollen has been knocked down by rains so the people with allergies are not suffering to badly . The nights are cool and the days are mid 70’s.....a great spring here so far!
Thanks for the Ping GE!!! I have been in the greenhouse starting corn. I will post some photos when I remember how. Getting old is not for sissies
Would you please add me to your ping list?
Wore out.
Hubs and I rebuilt the raised bed.
I have teeny tiny seedlings.
Maybe I’ll get a tomato or two by Christmas.
Can’t sprout beans to save my life!
They keep rotting-had old seed. I tried new stuff, maybe that will work.
I had to get rid of a bunch of old seed.
I had corn from 2005!
So I have to gloat a little bit, and this is the only place that’ll get it...I was driving to the grocery store and passed a guy mowing his lawn with a dozen-plus BIG bags full of raked leaves sitting by his curb. So I pulled over, asked if I could have them, and stuffed my car as full as it would go. (I got all but two of ‘em.)
Drove back home with my nose informing me that these were not only old leaves but old partially composted leaves with lots of happy nutrients to feed my veggies with. I am absolutely FILLED with glee, since there’s no trustworthy straw mulch around here and I’m sick of raking pine straw. :)
