Well, in a way it fits, especially after George Lucas made clear he based the Rebels on the Vietcong, which made Vietnam even worse. Not to mention his implying around the time ROTS was being made that Robespierre’s France played a role in the creation of the Old Republic, and considered THAT to be better than either Napoleon taking power or, heck, King Louis XVI’s reign.

Stopped rooting for the rebels after learning fully that they were based on such an evil group like the Vietcong, while the Empire was actually us Americans.

Correction, “Disney Rat” with its SJW, PC hands merely committed the hit job that caused its death. George Lucas himself is the one who actually killed it by selling it to Disney to essentially cheat on the tax hikes he begged Obama to implement, to say little about how he personally chose Kathleen Kennedy to run Lucasfilm’s ship aground despite knowing full well she hated Star Wars being a “boys franchise”. And quite frankly, Star Wars if you ask me died long before then, the moment Lucas became open about the films being Vietcong agitprop condemning American involvement in Vietnam, up to and even including outright voicing that sentiment in the actual story drafting material back in 1973.

To give people time to forget the foul taste of SJW propaganda in their cinematic palate.

I stood in lines blocks long in the summer heat for hours, repeatedly. I am over it too.

With what they’ve done to the franchise, Disney should have taken a break before they even got started.

That movie was an absolute disaster - not just in of itself, but with what it did to the rest of the storyline that had came before it.

Jar Jar Binks, however, actually had a plot that advanced the story line. All of the annoying antics aside, the character actually had a purpose that advanced the story line. With these newer movies, nada, and indeed, other characters were ruined.

I agree. My boys were 11 and 7 when "Star Wars" came out. I took them to see the movie when it premiered here. It was a small theater, but we all loved it. My oldest son would have me drop him off at the theater for the matinee, and then stay for the next showing or two, and I'd pick him back up after it was finished.

My oldest was a "Star Wars" freak. He's still a sci-fi freak, especially Star Trek, and all the spin-off shows. Both of my kids had to have the toys that went with the first film, and the figures. The oldest, now 52, still has the original Kenner 18" Darth Vader figure with the red lightsaber. He's also got the original Kenner Millennium Falcon. He doesn't have the boxes however. He's still got all the figures in the original snap case used to store them in.

The last two trilogies had 16 and 10 years breaks leading up to them.

They will probably wait until the original "Star Wars" geeks like us who walked out on VII and/or VIII start to die off. After all the SJW crap in Star Warts VIII, I'm having a hard time getting ginned up for IX. Saw the recent trailer, and I'm still wholly underwhelmed.

Same feeling about the "Avengers" POS coming out next week. If I knew that 99% of the "good guys" that survived the last one get wiped out this time, I might go to laugh at all the snowflakes that will be "devastated" by the loss of the Super-twits.
