It's been well over a couple of years since Apple officially announced the availability of iPhone SE in 2016 and since then the main iPhone line was upgraded on a regular basis but not the SE. But now we know why! Our source which is closely associated with Foxconn's manufacturing facility in India has confirmed the iPhone SE 2 is actually iPhone XE.
According to the source, iPhone XE will feature an iPhone X or XS style edge-to-edge 4.8" AMOLED display, but sadly with the notch. The iPhone XE will be having Face ID and no Touch ID is reportedly found as there will be no Home button.
iPhone XE will still come in iconic rectangular slab design with an aluminum back, so no wireless charging this time! Talking about the rear camera, it will come with a single 12 MP camera lens with f/1.8 aperture, the likes of which are found in iPhone XR.
The internals of the iPhone XE is still unknown but if it will be coming with Face ID, it's automatically understood that it will feature Apple's latest A12 BIONIC chip...
Also, the phone is supposed to be manufactured in India at a manufacturing facility of Apple's manufacturing partner, Wistron, under govt. of India's "Make in India" initiative.

Why no “Home” button?
Not needed.
My two year old iPhone X works just fine without the home button. In fact, better than the older phones with the home button.
And that notch they seem to dislike so much actually has a hidden function. When I pick up the phone it immediately orients me as to which side goes up. Without the notch, I would have to look at the back to see which way is up.
Of course, some will say a much more elegant solution would be to make the phone so that one didn't need to know which way is up. But, this would require the back to also have two possible orientations. And require a lot more cameras.
In other tech news I saw a prototype of the new Raspberry Pi 4.
4GB ram
8GB flash
3 Arm cores at 3Ghz
built-in FPGA
twice the number of headers.
two HDMI..at least one is 4K
SATA jack
megabit Ethernet
4 USB3 jacks
IR controller, wifi, bluetooth
You can do VGA using a part of the FPGA if you need to.
Barrel jack for power
Boot from external SATA drive, micro-USB or built-in flash.
When you "weaponize" caravans of illiterate aliens who have no knowledge of your culture and have no respect for you with cell phones and the instant communication and other powers these devices provide, you create a monster no government or people can control.
Since 911 this is what America has done, both with regard to those already illegally in residence here, as well as those who are currently in transit to break our borders.
I regularly deal with individuals who I believe are in the country illegally who cannot speak a word of English, yet have the most sophisticated cell phones on their person at all times. Because of the powers these devices bestow upon their users, these invaders have become an arrogant and literal army encamped amongst us.
If the infernal device of the cell phone and smart phone and the providing of access to social media were to be eradicated or access to it severely curtailed by law, we would see a beginning of the end of the cultural invasion which is dissolving America.
We are at war. War requires extraordinary protections and the curtailment of systems which can be used to subvert our society and the dominant culture.
It is preposterous and suicidal for a society to "weaponize" and willingly place into the hands of invading hordes this degree of advanced technology only recently available to our own military forces.
The duplicity of these technological companies who have placed profit and the dollar above national sovereignty and the rule of law and the safety of U.S. citizens will historically have been seen to be our undoing.
P. T. Barnam was right; what a bunch of suckers.
Notice that it will be built in India....now a lower cost manufacturer than China.
China’s wages have risen and the cost of doing business there is not an advantage anymore. India is the place to be for the next 10-20 years.
So, next time some FReeper talks about 50 cent per hour China wages, tell them to STFU.
So now it’s Model Ten E. That must mean that A, B, C, and D were flops. Maybe in 2023 Model Ten W might be a success. It could even have all the features of a 2017 Samsung.
I cannot afford the loan to buy this : )
I have been very happy with my iPhone SE. Cost $150, it’s the perfect size and does what I need.
There's a nice vlogger series on YT, an Englishman, who does a nice coherent presentation, and mostly talks about the Pi and similar form factor computers, very nice. ExplainingComputers
Apple wanted to sell nothing but refurbs in India, the current gov't turned that down flat, and since the Indian market is potentially huge, Apple worked out a deal for assembly of phones in India. The iPhone is still pricey for the Indian market, but in a market that size, sales even to just those who can afford it will still be pretty good sized.
That's what I've liked about it, when I've seen and handled one owned by others.
:^) I just want something with a few needed features not available on my tired old basic phone, not an alternative lifestyle. The Jitterbug Smart2 is probably just what I need, but I don't want to change plans.
The iPhone SE is one of Apple's most popular smart phones, in this video I talk about the latest rumors of a possible release of iPhone SE 2 or iPhone XE in 2019. Although Apple has yet to confirm any development of the next generation iPhone SE 2 for 2019 rumors continue to indicate that this product could be released as early as this year 2019. Some more leaks of the iPhone SE 2 are coming out, some say that it's going to be called the iPhone XE. | iPhone SE 2 Could be making a Comeback in 2019 ! | iDeviceHelp | Published on Apr 8, 2019
