A 17-foot-long female python, the largest ever captured at Big Cypress National Preserve in Florida's Everglades, took four people to hold it. A team of researchers posted a breathtaking photo of the snake on the Big Cypress Facebook page.
Big Cypress said the snake sent a new record for the area.

Big Cypress said the snake sent a new record for the area.
Where’d they send it? :)
I gotta go look at this.
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why didn't they kill it?
LOL, that’s what I want to know, where did they send it?
She is dead, New cowboy boots soon.
Ugh. Glad they killed it
Biological warfare.
>> Why didn’t they kill it?
Well, they “euthanize” them - can’t have gun nuts running around polluting the environment with lead and all that.
She’s just pining for the fjords.
Thats the full Monty right there for all to see.
“Why didn’t they kill it? “
It stated they euthanized the snake which is a nicer way of saying they killed the damn creature. Somehow I dont believe this animal lover “preservationists”..
“Why didn’t they kill it? “
With extreme prejudice!
I’ve always wanted a pair of snakeskin boots-maybe if they catch a bunch more big ones like that the price of those boots will come down to something I can afford...
The Everglades should be drained and built into developed land. Why the Hell is it protected anyway? There’s nothing special about it. It’s just swamp land that has deadly creatures in it.
A guy in my neighborhood back in the 80s had a 13-foot reticulated python that would eat full-sized rabbits and baby goats. Once he brought it over to swim in my parents’ pool with a group of us. It never attacked or bit anybody, but did get a pretty solid squeeze on the leg of one of the guys to where he was concerned about potentially getting overpowered and dragged underwater. It all worked out okay.
I heard that when it eventually got to about 17 or 18 feet the neighbor got rid of it. Not sure of the specifics on that part.
Snakes are beautiful creatures, but the danger grows as their bodies grow.
Python boots.

Another illegal alien story.
Is FL going to hunt these things down?
