What makes a great movie? *snip* We all know that it takes the combination of a good script, good acting, and good directing to make a film worth watching. But the one thing that makes a good film great is those movie moments that stir our emotions and go on to last for as long as our minds will allow us to remember.

Clueless. Anytime Alicia Silverstone said As if.
The scene in Braveheart where William Wallace rallies the troops before the Battle of Stirling.
That is a classic scene and it was a pleasant surprise to discover that Chazz wrote it, as the author of both the play the movie was based on and the screenplay itself.
My favorite movie.
The website with the list SUCKS!
I only saw commercials and exited it after first 10, which WEREN’T even the greatest.
Don’t know if it’s on the list but it has to be the “horse’s head in the bed” scene from “The Godfather”, one of the greatest movies ever. Totally shocking and unexpected. The music that accompanies it helps build the mystery and excitement.
I like the scene right after Dana Andrews knocks the jerk through the display case at the drugstore.
It's where Homer reaches down and picks up the American Flag lapel pin.

You’re right. Ranker has the by far the most interesting lists. But they also have very annoying and intrusive ads. So I use them with reluctance.
That scene from Casablanca is on my list too:
1. The Teardrop of Rain in “Passion of The Christ”
2. The Pianist: Szpilman Plays for German Soldier
3. La Marseillaise Scene from Casa Blanca
4. The Bob’s Country Bunker Scene in the Blues Brothers (it actually happened to me years before the movie came out)
5. Ahab lowers the boats for the White Whale (scene that starts with the gulls) Moby Dick
6. Chariot Race from Ben Hur
7. Kids led away from the Elementary School from “The Birds”
8 The Little Girl in the Red Dress scene from “Schindler’s List” (With “Rhozhinkes Mit Mandelin” playing in the background)
9. The Railroad Berth Scene from “Some Like It Hot”
10. The Parting of the Red Sea from “The Ten Commandments”
(As you can probably tell from my list, I am a senior citizen, and I like real comedy as well as drama. LOL!)
I understand that was Steve McQueen’s own personal motorcycle.
The paper spindle in “The Pawnbroker”

The cemetery scene in “Steel Magnolias”. It is powerful to me, and I can identify with it since I lost my daughter and only child. I haven’t watched it since she died.
I second that. American Beauty is a pathetic overrated movie.
My sympathies. Sometimes a movie scene is just too powerful.
What a bunch if cruddy movies in the top ten.
One of my favorites, too.
Whoever wrote this seems to gave never even heard of the movies you mention, all better suggestions than the mediocre fare the writer posits.
McQueen was in many scenes of that movie....as German’s on motor cycles. You probably knew that.
