"The problem arises from the upstart leagues inability to come to an agreement that would result in certain NFL players being available to the AAF. The NFL is willing to allow players who sign "futures" contracts after the conclusion of a given season to play in the AAF. The NFL Players Association has not yet agreed to the terms of what would amount to a modification of the labor deal between the NFL and the players union."
Eh? Sounds a lot like the NFL thinks they own the players.
Didn’t we fight a rather bloody war to end slavery?
The only thing I’ve ever heard about this league is that at some point in the “take a knee” thing, someone said another league may start up. Is this it? Man, that happened fast.
I’ve watched several games. Entertaining,
They have a mike on Steve Spurrier, coach of Orlando Apollos. He’s a trip, always liked him.
Several different rules, faster game, no kickoff, 5 defensive rushers max.
Hope they make it.
I haven’t watched an NFL game since the knee crap started couple yrs. ago.
Fans need a NEW league, not a faux NFL.
Its not much better than college football. But I would still like to see a decent d league model for football.
Oh...I thought the AAF will be expanding. You tube has someone who said the next 10 cities are AAF expansion cities.
The NFL should really say that NFL players can play in the AAF, however if they get hurt, the NFL has the right to terminate or renegotiate the players contract. And, the NFL will not pay for the players healthcare.
It isn’t the right time of year for football. Sports are seasonal for a reason. Let them compete with the NFL for viewership and they will win. College basketball? No chance.
This I news to me. I thought they were doing great.
