The Houston narcotics officer at the center of an internal police investigation — as well as an FBI civil rights probe — into a botched January raid that left two people dead has retired, his lawyer confirmed Friday.
Officer Gerald Goines retired Friday afternoon while under investigation following the Jan. 28 shooting deaths of two residents during a “no-knock raid” of a Pecan Park residence in south Houston. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office is reviewing more than 1,400 criminal cases that Goines worked on over the course of his 34-year career.
...Goines’ retirement came a day after Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo confirmed that he expected more than one officer to be criminally charged for their actions in the ill-fated raid. I listen to several talk radio stations in Houston and not one of them has mentioned this.
The chronicle’s news item was near midnight on Friday.
I only thought to look it up today because I had seen a very brief clip about it on KHOU 11’s youtube page under recent video uploads.

That was BEFORE anyone knew what had happened. He was reacting to officers getting shot....give the guy a break.
Any details of the raid itself? Were all the police injuries blue-on-blue?
Goins may have retired but he is still under investigation along with others. Policy was not followed and as much as I dislike Acevado, I have confidence this will be a clean investigation with a few maybe going to prison as well they should.

It was extended news to an ongoing story in a Rat infested city with a Soros selected DA and problems beginning to mount from the 2018 ousting of Republicans from all elected offices in Houston.

Made sense to me. Many on this site out on knee pads, opened wide and took it deep. Not joking. I am not sure why so many accept the police story with such an addement truthfulness. This story stunk so bad so early. No knock plains clothes raid. Almost as if it was a revenue raid gone bad. Even the supposed informant said no way. My guess is that the greed and addiction caused multiple mistakes. Husband and wife dead. Cops retired with fat pensions. Hang the MF’ers.
