I think the courts have found repeatedly that a moving car is a deadly weapon, and the police (or anyone) has a right to use deadly force if someone is trying to run them down.

 

Yes. But the tricky part is when cops open fire on a FLEEING CAR. Are cops really going to be run over when they are beside a car (at the drivers window)?

Evidently yes. Courts side with the cops when they shoot at cars trying to leave. I believe cops are trained to place themselves in front of a fleeing car so as to use deadly force. This video backs up my thoughts.

It would seem to be common sense to jump away and back off from a moving car. But cops move in. For the kill.

I wonder what the statistics are of cops getting run down by drivers prior to training them to stand in front of the car?
