Today’s Cryptogram

FTM FSVM FGNM FY CKKGKF C XRCWF FTCF ACW EM TVSF EO AYRI GK EMUYSM OYV XRCWF GF. TMWSO NGFATMRR

You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications, unfortunately they are copyrighted so we can't use them here. So, we're just going to make up our own.

The way it works is a letter stands for another letter.

For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).

Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.

PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles. Puzzle solvers love to hear if you found the CG challenging or easy.

You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram.

TOPICS: Chit/Chat
KEYWORDS: brain; cryptogram; puzzle; todayscryptogram
If you're just starting out on these, be patient, as you'll be proficient in no time.

Solving the puzzle under 8 minutes is good, under 6 very good, under 4 excellent and under two "you're a pro!"

Those of you looking for an added challenge can try to solve one sentence or even one word at a time, i.e. solve the entire first line, then go to the second line etc.

If you need a little help you can copy the cryptogram and paste it to Hal’s Helper below:

You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper.

OK then...2 minutes to solve it and a few hours to decide what it means.

4 minutes... small words with one common letter narrow it down.

45 secs. Good easy one to start the weekend. 🌻

And now it’s time for another bonus round. Remember this is a race to solve a humorous quote, first to get it wins bragging rights. Private reply not required, BUT this time, to win you have to reply with a pic, gif, or meme that indisputably proves you solved it. 😀 Here it is:

I think it means you don’t put anything in the ground before the last average killing frost day? In Georgia that’s around April 15...

Got it in a minute. The eighth word was the key.

I think it might be more general like “think ahead because it is harder to fix a consequence than it is to avoid it”.
But it’s definitely a phrase whose meaning can be teased out several ways.

Zipped through it BUT in essence just ‘rearranged’ the letters and came up with a new ‘puzzle’ that is sort of ‘baffling’ in itself.

It is either ‘newspeak’ where people rush to get in their 140 stroke maximum (<:) or very old English English or somewhere in the middle.

One of the clues tipped me off to the ‘subject’ and the rest was easy(er).

Keep ‘em coming ...

This one left me puzzled as to the meaning.

I thought it meant, don’t do it in the first place cos later you’ll have to worry about it.

Yes, I’m taking the lazy route.
