FULL TITLE: Mother claims her son was 'forced to wet himself in front of his class and made to wear a trash bag over his urine soaked clothes' after a teacher at an LA elementary school 'refused him access to the bathroom'

The mother of an eight-year-old boy has been left outraged after she says her son was forced to wet himself in-front of classmates after a teacher refused to let use the bathroom.

Sonia Mongol held a press conference outside of Manhattan Place Elementary School in Los Angeles on Thursday, demanding answers from officials at the school.

According to Mongol, her son's requests to urgently use the restroom were repeatedly refused by a teacher at the school in November.

When he could hold it no longer, his teacher allegedly offered him the option of urinating into a trash can in the classroom and 'exposing himself in front of all the other students'.

I think there i more to the story.

Why has the boy been repeatedly denied permission go to the bathroom? According to the story, it happened on more than one occasion. Also, why is there a metal screen on the Principal's office window?

Our teachers always allowed us to use the bathroom when we needed. However our classrooms had a toilet in each room so there was not much of a problem.

Some teachers feel the kids are just going and going to the bathroom to get out of class.

On the flip side of that some kids really do need to use the bathroom a lot and that is just the way it is.

The teacher must have been from San Francisco.

As a child at our church camp I remember some of our counselors being really mean and not letting us go to the outhouse after bedtime hours. And if we didn’t make it back in a certain amount of time they would punish us. Some kids really did have to go.

When I became a counselor I never was mean to our kids like that. But - to stop the after-hour trips just so the kid could go outside because he wasn’t sleepy - the first night we always had some guy back in the woods rustle some brush and grunt like a bear. (There were bears in the area).

As soon as some kid came back clamoring about a bear in the woods - it sure cut down on the fake need to go to the bathroom.

“I think there i more to the story.”

In the modern day school, principals encourage teachers to not allow restroom breaks. Hallway traffic makes them nervous, and students are apt to do things in the un-monitored restrooms. Principals want them to wait until between class changes, where, if they go, they will be punished for being tardy to the next class. Most principals can’t understand that contradiction.

Principals usually don’t get their job because of competence but because they are good at speaking educationese.

And certainly some students need to go, and are punished as if they don’t. Let that be a lesson in socialism: people are not co-equal in character.

There would have been a lot more to the story if this had been my child.

Pissing yourself in front of the class? Yeah, that’s gonna leave a mark.

There is probably a lot more to the story, but that’s a bit extreme.

My Bay Area friend taught at a school where each classroom is self-contained, with outdoor self-contained bathrooms, including a separate teacher bathroom. Due to bankruptcy of the school district, her first grade class size was increased from 18 to 36. If she needed to go “outside,” the teacher next to her had to supervise two classrooms, somehow, by going from one outdoor exit to the other.

There were no special subjects (art, music, PE, etc.) There were no referrals to special ed for emotionally handicapped students and no disciplinary referrals of minority students due to 0bama-era race restrictions. The schoolyard was unfenced, and available to the community during school hours. When I was there, several unemployed men were using the basketball court outside the classroom exit door and next to the outdoor teacher facility.

My bet is there is MUCH more to the story in the article.
