Colossal asteroid set to travel by Earth on Friday, NASA says we will be fine

2019 DN, measures between 298 and 656 feet wide, according to NASA, but it will pass Earth around 13 lunar distances away.

So 2019 DN’s flyby will be very far away from us — approximately 3,105,700 miles away.

The asteroid that exploded above Chelyabinsk, Russia, in 2013 — injuring 1,500 and damaging thousands of buildings — measured about 65 feet wide.

But even if 2019 DN were to change course, NASA says, its impact could do some damage but nothing apocalyptic.

Given the state of NASA is now, that is little comfort!

I wonder.

If there ever is a asteroid headed to collision with Earth, would they actually tell us?

Hopefully, all the amateurs would ......................

Worrying about “13 lunar distances” for a rock the relative size of a grain of fine sand is like getting nervous while driving by an indoor gun range.

No, and the statist media would have us believe it was a weapon of some sort launched by a “rogue” nation.

Somebody alert Al Gore! Because as you can tell by the graph below, this increased asteroid activity is due to Global Warming.

I may use this as an excuse to NOT go help my mom bag up stuff for the Salvation Army Saturday.

The Barringer meteorite was 160 feet across, and left a 3900 foot diameter, 560 foot deep crater, and probably killed anything from ground zero to the horizon.

This new rock is a bit bigger, so the claim that an impact would not be a big deal is doubtful.

Who would believe who? You'd have people screaming, "WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!" and others muttering, "Fake news... Settled science..."

The panic would be interesting.

But there was that time right after I got my driver license and I was driving by the local golf course. An errant ball came bouncing down the road in front of me, headed right for my windshield. Fortunately it just flew over the top of the car without hitting me and continued on down the road.

Right place, wrong time.
