Re pages 23 and 24, St. Simon’s Island is super exclusive now. We stayed not far away on Fripp Island, SC, when we went to our daughter’s graduation from Marine Corps Boot Camp.
Re the Napier Ball, pp. 12-16, I can’t figure out how they kept those gowns up.

Hi Teach, thanks for all you do.
“But there might not be peace when he is done.”
Wait a minute. I know how all this ends.
Okay, color me confused.

At reply #6 GreenLanternCorps posted the cover art from the 1974 album by Kansas. It is the same art I'm using for this month's posting reply (see reply #1.) along with a line from the song 'Carry On My Wayward Son,' a Kansas hit from a different album. The chorus starts out -
Carry on my wayward son
There'll be peace when you are done.
I was just making a lame jest on it all.

Hi.
“I was just making a lame jest on it all. “
I figured that, but just wanted to post something to mark the thread.

Cornelius Vanderbilt on the front page. The Bill Gates of mid century railroads.
I bet he buys the Eire Railroad for a song!

I just want to say again, as a victim of very much committee-work, that I totally feel George’s pain. The world is not kind to people who can endure decades of committee-work: it just gives them more committees.
I’m thinking of faking my own death and heading off to one of the less-popular Greek islands.
