Ive only seen B& W episodes of Combat.
Christopher George: RIP. BIG time GOP. Also was Vanna Whites Uncle.
CBS All Access is $5.99 per month with commercials, $9.99 without commercials.
What made the original “Twilight Zone” so good was the writing. Where will they find writers of that caliber today?
What’s important is how many people of color and how many LGBTQ people will be in the cast, and how many white males will be made to look like weak, bumbling fools.
The plot is secondary.
For almost as much as Netflix, and not better offerings, I think a lot of people will take a pass on that, and stay with Netflix and Amazon Prime
My 80 + year old Aunt has CNN on at her home 24/7. She hates Trump and believes everything spewed out.
I'd say six feet under.
Should get rid of her tv. All that hate and ignorance is going to earn her a one-way ticket to hell.
I would surmise they will change the story a little with some “twist”, there’s no reason to do a remake.

I clicked a couple spoiler-free reviews of the first two episodes, and the consensus seems to be "meh". The first episode, titled The Comedian, is about a comedian who "will do ANYTHING For A Laugh". Reviewers say the episode was decent but the main problem is the running time was an hour, which made the episode drag and people lose interest. Traditional Twilight Zone story segments are 30 minutes tops, though they did experiment with hour long episodes during the original Serling Twilight Zone's fourth season.
The second episode, "Nightmare at 30,000 Feet", is a "remake" in name only. There's a guy (played by Adam Scott) taking a plane trip, otherwise everything unfolds differently. One critic said the episode "is not even a reimagining of the original story". Not sure what that means, but it sounds like they just used the title of a "classic" episode for marketing purposes. And people though the ending (again, I read SPOILER FREE reviews, so I have no idea what the ending was) to be a disappointment. I'll read up on some additional reviews of later episodes before I decide whether the series is worth checking out.
At least from the first two episodes there doesn't seem to be any SJW agenda, but I'd expect better from Jordan Peele.
Hmmm. I wonder if the whole show is like how the opening credits are. Just watched the credits sequence. The 2019 opening was underwhelming for me and just came across as a half-assed attempt to copy the 1950s opening with modern special effects. For comparison:

Who the Hell is “Jordan Peele”???
Google the movie “Get Out”.
I remember the trailers for it.
All I need to know.
That sounds like a rip-off of a Rod Serling-penned 1971 "Night Gallery" episode ("Make Me Laugh") featuring the late, great Godfrey Cambridge. I just saw it recently.
He also did the comedy skit series, “Key & Peele” on Comedy Central (which as OK as it was, still didn’t hold a candle to Dave Chappelle).

Magic Negro Fight, was a classic

Wow, that must’ve been an episode I missed. Funny stuff.
Of course, what sounds good on paper doesn't always work in reality, on paper Jackie Earle Haley was perfect casting for Freddy Kruger in the Nightmare on Elm Street remake, but boy did that movie suck.
I've actually never seen Serling's OTHER series, Night Gallery, though I've seen all three previous versions of The Twilight Zone, plus the 1983 movie. Wouldn't surprise me if they "unofficially" ripped it off and hoped nobody noticed.
Part of the fun of an anthology series is every episode is different and unique, so its possible the 2019 Twilight Zone could still be decent, but my gut feeling is CBS All Access has neutered it.
