"For one thing, audiences change the definition of ‘funny’ all the time." This ^. The comedy and satire that I enjoyed in my youth just does not translate well today. Though I still enjoy and can relate to Steve Allen, May and Nichols, TW3 and Python, my offspring just do not get it.
