A crucial non-interference, non-helmet-to-helmet call cost the Saints a spot in the Super Bowl and provided a crushing loss to end the season for a second straight year as the Rams won with a field goal in overtime 26-23.
After the game, Saints head coach Sean Payton said the NFL head of officials admitted they had missed the call, saying that it was not only pass interference, but a helmet to helmet hit. If the call had been made, the Saints could have killed the clock and tried a chip shot field goal...

I agree with the refs!
I saw it, Saints would have won if the right call was made.
ah, but the NFL wanted the Rams in the Super Bowl to try to fill the stadiums in LA
It was an error that altered the out come of the game. It should cause a replay of the entire game. People don’’t pay to see officiating errors. The Super Bowl is now ruined. I really think a law suit should intervene. I want to check that jack ass refs bank accounts and his families. It was an Abomination. Worst rigged call in history , I think. It will be replayed over and over. Terrible.
Wasn’t watching. The non-kneelers can all go to hell.
Their play calling and clock management was not up to par in that final drive.
But yes, they did miss that call.
With sports betting now sanctioned by the state, expect to see more of these ‘mistakes’ by the refs.
Government, sports, religion, business...doesn’t anyone play it straight anymore?
Because of Gurley, I wanted the Rams, but that was such a hideous no call.
Saints should be going to the SBowl.

Amen!
The refs have gotten a lot worse since replay started.
If it comes down to one questionable call on one single play, then you deserve to lose.......
You had 60 minutes to determine your future and you blew it......
If my aunt had testicles, she would have been my uncle.........
It seems like it.
>>Saints would have won if the right call was made.
You don’t know that. No one does. They could have fumbled the next play. Or the Rams could have let them score a TD, getting the ball back, and scoring themselves.
The only thing we DO know is that the Saints threw an interception in OT, which did more to cost them the game. I do think the non-DPI call WAS missed but the Rams still had a timeout and stranger things have happened.
Wasn’t it the Saints who lost to Minnesota on a freak play in the playoffs a couple of years ago? Every team in the league can make a case for a Super Bowl they’d no doubt win but for supposed bad calls. It is what makes sports sports.
Not only did they mess up on both interference and a helmet to helmet hit.
They didn’t even review the call upstairs.
Goodell wants a Rams win over the Pats.
