A former pairs champion took his own life Friday, just one day after he was suspended by U.S. Figure Skating.

Coughlin was suspended Thursday by U.S. Figure Skating and U.S. Center for SafeSport. USA Today reported a matter concerning him was presented to SafeSport. The details were not immediately disclosed.
In December, SafeSport restricted his participation in the sport before the interim suspension was announced. He was temporarily suspended from participating in any capacity, in any activity or competition authorized or organized by USFS or the U.S. Olympic Committee, USA Today reported.

Looking back on her story, I would have advised her to join one the services after her ban from skating, perhaps change her name on induction, get her GED, and training in a post-service career field. ...Had I ever been in a position to do so!
It would be safe to say that the percentage of homosexuals among male figure skaters is higher than the priesthood.

I see Tonya Harding on TV fairly regularly. She managed to turn her misfortune into a career. I don’t think she’s done bad for herself at all.

I lived blocks away from Tonya Harding. Lets just say she had issues. I retired from the Military and it’s a pretty good bet she would have been kicked out. Just sayin....
Really? Because if memory serves, the local media was all too happy to report on the police responding to her trailer in Vancouver, WA for various domestic disturbances.
