A New York woman in her 30s was arrested for pretending to be a homeless teenager so she could enroll in a Greene County high school — even though she already has a high school diploma, police and school district officials said.
Michaelann Goodrich allegedly told administrators at Cairo-Durham High School that she was a 15-year-old girl named Riley Madison, district superintendent Anthony Taibi told NBC News.
Under the McKinney-Vento Act, which states that homeless children and youth cannot be denied education, the school was required to immediately enroll Goodrich in classes when she enrolled on Dec. 19. Taibi, however, said officials at the school noticed “red flags” in Goodrich’s story and asked the police to get involved.
“There was enough in her story that caused some concern,” he said.
Goodrich was able to attend one day of classes on Dec. 20, according to Taibi.

How silly! She should know that only Muslim and Latino immigrants are allowed to be in their 30s and pretend to be teenagers in high school.
I had a classmate in high school who had white hair. We called him Daddy Groovy’ and the plus side, he looked 40-ish we always sent him to liquor stores when we needed booze.
Guilty. Nuke it from orbit.
That’s ageist discrimination! And some Obama judge will order the school to readmit her.
Why not? Dudes can claim to be a woman and vis versa, and some say that is okay but they can compete in athletics and even pageants using their pretend gender. How can pretending to be 15 years old any less valid?
She should have said she wanted to be a man and wanted a sex change and she wanted to be a 15 year old boy, instead. She would have been the instant valid Victorian of the class.
I love that. I'm going to use it in Real Life if it kills me.

Grudging respect to her for trying to get
hot meals,
somewhere safe to stay during the day,
Someplace warm during the day,
friendship,
access to medical help,
and maybe even a little learning.
If her alternative was a homeless shelter, this was actually a rational choice.
If she self-identifies as a 15 yearold then she’s 15 yearsold.
I could hardly wait to get OUT of high school.
