hose who are around my age woke up one December and discovered that the “holiday season” of Christmas and New Year’s became a trio, with the addition of something called Kwanzaa. Oh, sure there were rumblings of a new holiday. But strangely in this country where political correctness is on overload, a day invented in 1966 by a rapist who ran a Black separatist group is considered by some as a holiday on par with Christmas, or New Year’s. Kwanzaa is exclusively an American holiday and is not celebrated in any other part of the world (including Africa). The name Kwanzaa comes from a phrase of Swahili origin, “Matunda Ya Kwanza”, and translates as “First Fruits of the Harvest.” That’s right it’s supposed to be spelled with only one “a,” the very name of this supposed holiday is a typo.

Looks like it. The part I despised most was when postal stamps came with kwanza themes. It just reminded me of the thing that was in the Oval office at the time. And the wookie at its side.
Still being printed on calendar’s - I remember Bush giving Kwanzaa messages.
I doubt Trump isn’t aware of the fraud of Kwanzaa, but if a percentage of blacks believes in it or don’t know any better, what harm is there in mentioning it.
I always thought that someone should have made up some Irish Christmas ‘fest’ day (the 27th) which required 24 hours of festing on ale and bread. Just make the holiday up out of thin air.

Not entirely. A recent episode of “House Hunters” featured a black family looking for a home with a fireplace mantel large enough to hold their “Kwanzaa” candelabra.
Even Karenga’s name is a fraud. His real name is Ron Everett.

Every year the usual bunch gets all in a snit over it. "I'm not celebrating Kwaanza" they loudly proclaim, "stupid PC holiday!"
But I don't see anybody celebrating Kwaanza. Ever. Never actually seen it in real life. Are they selling Kwaanza cards at the CVS? No. Are they having Kwanzaa sales in department stores? No. Are there any radio stations playing Kwaanza music? No. Does your local bakery have Kwanzaa cookies? Nope.
You think anybody in the "hood" celebrates Kwanzaa? Hell no. Even the ghetto kids realize that Kwannza is a fabricated holiday invented by stupid white liberal people. They want nothing to do with it. They find the whole thing patronizing.
Progressives and Neo-marxists in government and media will keep it alive.
Lets strenuously ignore it.

Our local ABC affiliate (WTVD 11 Durham NC) just gave kwanza a shout out this morning. But you have to remember that Durham, NC is the Compton, CA of the east coast.
