CBS paid Eliza Dushku $9.5 million after she accused "Bull" star Michael Weatherly of harassment

Eliza Dushku was written off CBS' "Bull" after she confronted Michael Weatherly about his behavior, according to a new report in the New York Times.

The Times said when Dushku appeared on "Bull" last year, there were "well-developed plans" to make her a full-time cast member, but those plans allegedly ended after she came forward with allegations against the show's star.

Dushku played a lawyer alongside Weatherly for just three episodes in Season 1. According to a draft report from lawyers hired by CBS' board to investigate the company's culture and sexual misconduct allegations and reviewed by the Times, Dushku was written off the show within days of confronting Weatherly about behavior that made her uncomfortable. Among the allegations: he told "a rape joke," and said in "front of the cast and crew" that he "would bend her over his leg and spank her."

In another alleged incident on set, Dushku held up three fingers during a scene. She allegedly told investigators, Weatherly suggested she wanted a threesome with him and another male cast member.

After being written off the show, Dushku entered mediation with CBS. According to the Times, that's when a lawyer for CBS handed over outtakes from "Bull" in belief it would help their case, but it allegedly backfired. The Times reports "the outtakes were a goldmine" that actually captured some of the harassment.

...

The network agreed this year to pay Dushku a confidential settlement of $9.5 million, roughly the amount she would have earned as a series regular.

Since when is behavior that makes some snowflake “uncomfortable” actionable?

This garbage needs to stop. Next thing you know, men will be fined for looking at pretty women.

Problem is that men start this off as playful and the gal often plays along, but it eventually becomes burdensome for the woman to endure day after day after day.

Well, it was boorish behavior.

Not to mention incredibly stupid on Weatherley’s part.

Corporations have protocols for dealing with this in house. Did she avail herself of them?

But $9.5 mil for what’s been alleged?! There’s got to be more to this...

$9.2 million is a lot, which is good, b/c her career is over.

The casting couch is not dead — it has just gone underground.

Some naive comments on here.

“On January 13, 2018, Dushku published, on Facebook, an account of her sexual molestation at the hand of stunt coordinator Joel Kramer when she was 12 and working on True Lies. According to Dushku, Kramer groomed her with flattery and special attention until, one day, he lured her to his Miami hotel room, took off all his clothes, lay Dushku on the bed, and rubbed himself against her (dressed) until he ejaculated. Kramer was 36 at the time of the alleged encounter. Dushku claims that soon after, an adult friend of Dushku confronted Kramer on set, and that the same day, Dushku was injured during a stunt and several of her ribs were broken; She says Kramer was responsible for her safety.”

She played the daughter who got kidnapped . . . that final scene atop the Miami skyscraper is one of the greatest action scenes I’ve ever seen.

What he said to her would have been regarded as “witty” up to just a year or two ago.

It is his age. He grew up where such male/female word play was par for the course.

What ever became of “strong women” that they now have to run for cover at the least little thing, and she used to slay vampires, I gather.

She will never get another acting job.

And that picture? It begs for comments that she claims distress her.

Isn't sexual harassment in the workplace against federal law?

And isn't action (secret cash payments) by several people to cover up violation of federal law a violation of federal law? If not, shouldn't a federal judge pass a ruling that it is against federal law?

My point: Isn't impeachment and prison the right thing for the network executives?

Why would you post that? Are there no women in your life? Are you one of those incels?

The strong woman saw a $9.5 million pay day.

She lost her 10mil a year job over not wanting to be mistreated by a married man (according to the article). Come on FR, try to be better.

I guess you skipped over the part of being punished for declining the advances by being written off the show . . . I believe that is called blackballing. Why do you think the network settled for that amount?

She is now enrolled in College so it doesn’t seem like she is anything but a wronged woman. And given the Hollywood crowd, a relatively sane young woman.

I had to laugh when I read the $9.5 million worth of comments.

The pic topped it off as showing some one obviously more than willing to profit from her available sex appeal.

I wonder what she'll do now that her acting career is finished. The bigger question is, if true, why did she stay in Hollywood?
