Secret Service agents breathed a collective sigh of relief when George H. W. Bush took office. Unlike previous presidents Lyndon Johnson and Jimmy Carter, Bush treated agents with respect and consideration.
Bush 'made it clear to all his staff that none of them was a security expert, and if the Secret Service made a decision, he was the one to sign off on it, and they were never to question our decisions or make life difficult,' former agent Pete Dowling says.

What about Reagan?
It’s not a well-written article, but it does mention that Reagan would stay at the White House on Christmas Eve so that the agents could spend time with their families.
Amazing the contrast. The rats are for the little guy and they get away with treating their help like Mary Jo.
I’ve heard that the peanut farmer treated the Secret Service like crap. Sort of like how Caligula treated the Pretorian Guard, I guess.
My wife says it looks like a costume for a boy. I don’t know.
Reagan was good to the Secret Service. I remember reading that Nixon was good to them, too. Hillary, on the other hand......
Probably when all this crap about the rogue agency began. STUPID Bush gave away the shop. Them and the CIA and others.
Now Trump wants to take it back.
Hilda had the normal routine of screaming “get out of my way” when
addressing the Secret Service.
I understand why Trump is doing it, but why can't we speak the truth about the man. I don't want to see establishment idiots like the dog obsessed Dana Perino on Tucker Carlson. Then Hannity shows an interview from a time when most of us were still being manipulated with lies into supporting destructive policies pushed by the Bush family. Then Laura Ingraham has the same kind of crap about how great Bush was. They don't have to talk bad about him now, but I think a short generic statement would be enough. I don't know how it helps the MAGA agenda by making a hero out of an establishment RINO that opposed it, and didn't even vote for Trump. The Bush family isn't any better than the Clintons or Obamas, but at least I knew who they really were from the beginning. I despise the establishment RINOs even more than I do the leftist scum in the democrat party.
There was a handwritten 3x5 card hanging from the abnormally short kitchen doorway. “Watch your head Mr. President”.
I wasn't sure if it was really for the president (hanging out with the boys, away from the wife and play poker and smoke cigars?) - or, was it just a playful reminder to themselves to duck?
My guess is the owners put it there for humorous effect.
Rubbers voted for Shitlery. That’s all I need to know.
I did not know Herbie was a Cookie Monster! LOL
I have peanut butter cookies, and coconut macaroons.
Ditto. The best I can say is he wasn’t Dukakas.
Hillary needed her privacy. She probably would have liked to have no security because she had to watch what she screamed when agents were around. my friend was Reagans personal nurse and friends with many agents that served the Clintons. The stories she heard about the Clintons fights were epic.Agents were asked to go downstairs away from the family level before Hillary would explode. Imagine what Chelsea lived with. she must be a real mess.
It’s an interesting pattern that reveals some truth about the basic character of our two political camps. In general Republicans are kind to the help and Democrats are not. That is significant. The other one that’s really telling is how leftists always trash the place at their rallies, leaving a mess for the workers to clean up. Meanwhile conservatives leave the place spotless.
In Bethlehem PA there is a rubber ducky store and yes there’s a POTUS Trump ducky.....Make America Quack Again!!!!! Bought a few couldn’t resist.....
Bingo. He wasnt Dukakis and he wasnt Clinton. He would have been two terms if not for Perot. I voted for him twice. He sucked. But no where near the suckiness of the other 2. Reagan and Trump were the only 2 presidents I ACTUALLY voted for
as opposed to voting against their opponents
