If not for the voter fraud in Chicago and Louisiana, Nixon would have become President in 1960 and this catastrophic law would have never even been conceived.

"This bill that we will sign today is not a revolutionary bill," President Johnson lied just about continuously. One of the worse presidents ever, right up there with Wilson,FDR,Hoover,Kennedy,Carte, Clinton, and Obama.

“This bill that we will sign today is not a revolutionary bill,” the president said. “It does not affect the lives of millions. It will not reshape the structure of our daily lives. ... Yet it is still one of the most important acts of this Congress and of this administration. For it does repair a very deep and painful flaw in the fabric of American justice. It corrects a cruel and enduring wrong in the conduct of the American nation.”
Same Old, Same Old...’unintended’ consequences from Leftist policies and laws, harming America two minutes after being passed by Congress and signed into law. :(
Can ANYONE here name ANY Leftist policies that came WITHOUT dire consequences?
I’ll wait...

Hold on Chief, you need to include Administrations like Reagan (1986 Amnesty, TEFRA, and a bunch of others) and Eisenhower too. Don't get me started on what Nixon and both Bushes pushed.

“When one considers present immigration policies, it seems we have insensibly reverted to mass immigration, without ever having made a decision to”
And that’s the key point: when did we vote to be a predominantly Hispano-Caribbean society?
There’s really no one on Earth who would consciously make that choice. Why are we supposed to just live with it?

Excellent point. I agree, 100%.
It’s EASY to immediately blame the wanna-be-Socialists, when the Republicans have done just as MUCH damage to America.
What is so HARD about taking a perfectly-designed system and just running with it?
‘With Liberty and Justice for All.’
I’ll never understand it. Never. :(

Partner, one thing about this article is that this is about the time when the MSM started to become worst than what it is right now. Of course, we know that Lyndon Baines Johnson was terrible as a president and history has not been kind to this man. I am ashamed to admit he is from Texas.
The MSM is now in the business of "Activism type of Journalism" and the MSM will show their activism on television, newspapers and magazines.
They atarted to do this activism type journalism stories on the radio and Journalism failed misably on radio and we think we know why they failed so terribly.
Journalism is dead right now, since all they can do is activism type stories which is not Journalism. The professors in Universities in our nation are not teaching Journalism anymore since it has become an activism type of Journalism and the professors accept that is what we the people want and they are so wrong.
We already know the facts about Illegal Immigration and it is not good for all Americans.

What pains me is that our tax dollars go to analysts that weigh the pros/cons of legislation and this is the result we get.
“Hell and good intentions”. We never learn. Limbaugh has a good shtick where he proclaims “gridlock is guuuooooooodaahh”. Avoiding unintentional consequences is the reason why.
Most of the time, doing nothing is the right thing; letting “the people AKA the citizens” control their own destiny is the only “legislation” that should be respected.

Again, I agree.
And I retired early (56) and have no taxable income, so I’m no longer part of the PROBLEM.
However, the SOLUTION still evades me. ;)

Finishing the death of the USA was GHW Bush and his friends who doubled the legal immigration quota from 500,000 per year to over one million.
