Ellen Pompeo took a stand in an on camera interview for Net-A-Porter, calling out the publication during an actress roundtable interview. The “Grey’s Anatomy” star appeared in the video interview opposite Gina Rodriguez, Gabrielle Union, and Emma Roberts. When the conversation turned to representation in front of and behind the camera, Pompeo took a moment to address the elephant in the room and advocate for more inclusive sets of all shapes and sizes.
“This day has been incredible, and there’s a ton of women in the room. But I don’t see enough color,” Pompeo said about the Net-A-Porter set. “I didn’t see enough color when I walked in the room today.”
“I had a meeting with a director of another endorsement project that I’m doing where I said, ‘You know, when I show up on set, I would like to see the crew look like the world that I walk around in everyday,'” the actress continued. “I think it’s up to all productions to make sure that your crew looks like the world we see. As Caucasian people, it’s our job. It’s our task. It’s our responsibility to make sure we speak up in every single room we walk into [and say] this is not ok and that we can all do better. It’s our job. We’ve created the problem.”
Pompeo has been one of the most outspoken actresses when it comes to advocating for inclusive film and television sets and gender parity. The actress made headlines earlier this year for coming forward about her fight to get the salary she deserved after leading “Grey’s Anatomy” for over 14 seasons. Following her comments about the Net-A-Porter set, Pompeo’s co-interviews saluted her with a cheers.

We measure them only by their skin color. If we get our color % right it doesn’t matter who the people are, their skills, their contributions, their level of interest. We just need them to be black.
What a despicable way of dehumanizing people especially people who happen to be black. What a racist and narcissistic woman. If anything worthwhile ever occurs in her presence it’s in spite of her.
That’s the problem, it’s never enough just to be proportional; SJWs overshoot dramatically when they cast TV ads, movies, videos, etc.
So if the crew is mostly white, it’s probably even.
The Census Bureau says the US population is 12.3 percent black, 12.5 percent Hispanic, yet watch primetime TV shows and commercials, or go to the movies, and every other character is black or Hispanic.
The world she says “I walk around in every day” isn’t the real world. Not even close. Hollywood and indeed the entire media are just making up their own world, and trying to make all of us believe we live in it.
It is up to white people to not step into a room if there isn’t “enough color” in the room. Why didn’t she do anything about it? How dare a white person enter a room already filled with white people?
I bet she even shops at white owned stores. I bet she works for white production companies, has white agents, mostly white fellow actors. Her stupid idiot character on her stupid show fell in love with that stupid WHITE Mcdreamy doctor. Where does this stop?

Yep. NONE of her houses is in an urban area. Most of them seem to be gated or remote, as well. BUT - she does seem to be partnered with a man of darker color - black or Spanish? So, she’s got that going for her ..... How about that.
