My thoughts?

It is never as good as it seems, it is never as bad as it seems.

Up here in Maine it feels like 2010 never happened. The democrats control the state, and God only knows how CD2 will play out with Rank choice voting.
Yet there’s reason to be optimistic. The left has been fired up since Nov. 2016, the GOP for the most part hasn’t forcefully stood by our great President. And yet if the recounts go the way of 2016 they’ll be 54 or 55 R Senators. I think after the Kavanaugh witch hunt, most of these folks have gotten a spine. All the craziness from the house, stays in the house.
The President has done his part to keep the republic alive. Those of us in blue states like Maine need to work equally as hard to turn things around. A whole new state committee, new localleadership. And we need to go old school, knock on every door we can every day for the next two years to turn this ship around.

House=money. No wall. No tax cuts. Unending investigations. Maxine Waters leading anything is scary. Time to get off the grid and participating in feeding the beast.

I don’t know about other states, but in TX there was a huge drive to get Repulicans to vote early. All that did was to tell the Democrat party how much voter fraud and illegal alien voting was needed to win the house seats and down ballot seats. One of the main reasons that DJT won was because they didn’t have a clue as to how many voters would show up on election day. Republicans were ahead in early voting but some rather substantial margins.

Next thing is a very vigorous investigation into voter fraud.

It opens up a real can of worms over who will be the Speaker of the House.

I’m trying to reconcile the Trump crowds against the votes. It doesn’t add up. Accuse me of donning tin foil but I think I know why Ryan announced months ago why he wouldn’t be running again and how Pelosi could guarantee her party would win the house.

Yes losing the house stinks, and the Kavanaugh effect was real, but didnt didn’t filter down into house races.

Looks like 5 flips in the Senate toward R and 1 flip toward D.

End of the day, GOP just had too much territory open in the House. Nearly 40 retirements gave too many open seats to play with and to their credit Dems capitalized.

Dems.can’t push any legislative agenda through, but almost certainly will overplay their house win. Meantime Trump will continue to get solid judges on the bench and cabinet positions filled.

Looks at this point Bobby is going to be the front runner for the Dems in 2020, at least for a brief moment... So, will see how all that plays out as well.

I thought that Trump should have stumped with/for John James. I guess he has his reasons...

It wasn’t a blue wave where I live (Dupage County, IL); it was a tsunami. Dupage County used to be a very conservative, very Republican county. However, in recent years Rats from Chicago and Cook County have been moving here in droves (Rats do this, you know: They destroy their own communities then move to unsullied communities and try to wreck them).

Last night was a bloodbath for our area, as gun-grabbing, tax-loving, liberal Rat women took over virtually ALL elected offices.

We are SOOOOOO screwed.

Speaking of dead wood......

Something to keep in mind is that Pelosi is 78, Waters is 80, and Feinstein is 85.

Ginsberg is 85 and Beyer is 80, and IIRC he’s got health issues already.

None of the Assoc. justices are spring chickens either.

People don’t live forever.

I’d say there’s a reasonable chance that some attrition is going to be happening over the next few years.

For my part, although I will not pray for evil to befall someone, or that they would die, I am praying that God would remove them by whatever means He sees fit.

So what happens to those senate seats when they kick off or leave office? I know the SOCTUS means another Trump appointee, aka, another WIN, but the senate?

Thanks to the assclowns in Washoe and Clark counties in NV, we are now officially blue. Gov., Lt. Gov both went blue. Heller lost his seat so now we have 2 hairy screed wanna be’s in the senate. Pretty damn sad. Now, back to work.

Trump needs to act as if 2019 is the only thing that matters.

Trump needs to build up a defense against the Democrats going after him via impeachment, leaking his taxes, and using Mueller to dirty him up for 2020.

To do this, he should do the following:

  1. As soon as the 115th Congress adjourns sine die, Trump should fire Sessions (or accept his resignation), and fire Rosenstein.
  2. Trump should recess appoint a bulldog, a fighter, a person who doesn't want a Beltway career, and who is willing to make the tough calls the way that Sessions wouldn't. Somebody outspoken, like Jeanine Pirro who appeared on stage with Trump, might be a good choice. This appointment would expire at the end of 2019, so would be immune to Senate interference for the duration.
  3. Trump should nominate a replacement for Rosenstein through the normal Senate process. Let the Senate Republican Judiciary Committee members like Lindsey Graham have a platform to counter House Democrats investigating Trump, like Maxine Waters, Adam Schiff, and Jerry Nadler.
  4. The new Attorney General should immediately take control of the Mueller investigation, demanding an immediate briefing by Mueller, and potentially shutting down the investigation outright. Let the 55/56 Republicans in the Senate deal with Democrat howls of obstruction, since 2019 is going to be about all-out war with the Democrats. It's best in the short term to take this weapon off the table now.
  5. The new Attorney General can also take a harder line on illegal immigration actions to counter Democrat obstruction of border security.
  6. In 2020 when the recess appointment expires, Trump can formally nominate a permanent Attorney General and give Republicans another Senate Judiciary Committee confirmation hearing to campaign from going into the 2020 election. Set the Democrats up for a repeat of their 2018 performance and show voters again what their choices are.

I am a bit concerned that the perception of Trump’s trade policies hurt in states like Iowa, states he’ll need in 2020. We need wins in that area before then.

Massive vote fraud, on purpose, and it can only be addressed by the Administration.

That Trump needs to purge his administration of the “Resistance” or the country is doomed.

The House will become a permanent source of inquiries, and like the fake Kavanaugh accusers, it will mostly be lies.
