GLAAD’s “Where We Are on TV” report for a third consecutive year forecasts an all-time high in the number of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender and queer (LGBTQ) characters on TV, while also noting that both greater racial diversity and gender parity has been achieved among those roles.

Broadcast TV’s representation of LGBTQ characters in the 2018-19 TV season is forecast to be 8.8 percent (or 75 out of 859 series regular roles), up nearly one-third from 2017-18 to mark an all-time high. (Broadcast TV also will have 38 recurring LGBTQ characters, up from last season’s 28.) The CW ranks highest with 16 percent, followed by Fox (11), NBC (7.7), ABC (5.8) and CBS (3.4, and the only broadcaster to decrease year over year). Cable TV went from 103 to 120 series-regular LGBTQ characters, plus an additional 88 recurring; FX, whose Pose accounts for more than half of the trans representation on cable, leads with 23 characters, while Freeform, Showtime and TNT each tally 21. Streaming services such as Netflix, Amazon and Hulu add 75 regulars plus 37 recurring, surging 60 percent year-over-year.

Broadcast TV’s representation of LGBTQ characters in the 2018-19 TV season is forecast to be 8.8 percent (or 75 out of 859 series regular roles),

Five times the percentage found in the population at large - but still only about a fifth as many as hold positions of power and influence in Hollywood. So there is a long way to go... :)

I wouldn’t know, since I very rarely watch television, and NEVER watch so called “sit-coms.”

After the events of the past few days, I’m waiting for a transgendered couple to star in a remake of something like “24” or “Madam Secretary”. That brilliant and daring couple will hunt down conservative right wing terrorists who were first radicalized by Donald Trump.

Delivering diversity instead of ratings.
Can’t imagine their shareholders are too happy about that.

Ho hum, I still prefer watching the classics and TCM (You Tube has early 1950s Dragnet episodes that are still very watchable, believe it or not, btw).

Explains why fifty-year old reruns of Hogan’s Heroes on MeTV are kicking their a*s.

It’s disgusting and perverse and one of several reasons why I cut cable.

Haven’t watched broadcast TV in nearly 15 years. If I did, I expect I might have a heart attack.

Question 1: Who can name the top 5 shows they are talking about in this article?

Question 2: Who watches those shows?

Libtard diversity is all different but really the same.
Diversity through uniformity.
No doubt learned while attending public school and or at a over priced libtard university.

I avoid shows and movies with queers in them, unless they are ancillary characters and there’s no bleeding heart agenda concerning them in the script.

I wouldn’t know since I rarely, rarely watch network tv.
One has to have standards.

Hogan’s Heroes is infinitely more entertaining than any of this drivel the networks are cranking out today.

Not that any of the usual media outlets would report it but...I wonder how the ratings are for the new season of Dr. Who with Jodi Whitaker driving the TARDIS? As good as last season with Peter Capaldi or worse?

In the battle between Good and Evil more diversity is calling for reinforcements for Evil.

We already know Good...
