Hi - I have had problems with kidney stones starting in 1995 until I had lithotripsy in 2010 or so. Before that I passed about 30 stones total including one at the Tower of London while on vacation. The first was definitely the worst and the closest I got to child birth in pain level.

When I felt the pain coming on I would start drinking a lot of water and take something for the pain. At that point they took 24-36 hours to pass.

I have not had any since the lithotripsy. It wasn’t a pleasant experience but was worth it.
