2004, Dirty Dick was convicted of attacking his girlfriend with a butcher knife. He was sentenced a year of house arrest and two years probation.

He wrestled in the WWF as “The Rebel” in the mid 80s when Vinnie Mac first took over the company and started to expand the promotion nation-wide.

I really enjoyed the antics of the Dick Slater-Bob Orton Jr tag team in the Mid-Atlantic territory in the early 1980s.

Slater was great in Mid South, too. When both Slater and Orton wound up in the WWF, they didn’t really do much.

He shall be missed. Rest in Peace.

Most pro wrestlers die early (before age 78).

Plus, a majority die in FL.
