With the sale of our house now pending, we are less than 30 days away from leaving California. Both my wife and I have lived our entire lives in California. With our retirement last year and our only child living in another state for the past two years, it was time to leave.
Congrats!
Good for you! I moved out of my state of 49 years last year.
Life is so much better!
What State are you aiming for?
If you don’t mind me asking.
I wish I could leave but my wife doesn’t want to.
You will feel so much cleaner...
Congrats!
I wish we could bottle up and sale California’s beautiful climate.
I would like to move away from the swamp of SE TX....so hot and humid....can you please bring me some of CA’s weather???
Best wishes.
Texas. For the record, neither my wife nor I have ever voted DEM in a presidential election, so we aren't bringing any liberal politics with us.
Question for Californian’s moving out ....
What state are you moving TO?
Thanks for sharing.
Come to Wyoming.
Our votes in the electoral college have the most weight.

(Lived in CA 16 years. Beautiful state. Sad what was done to the state that gave us Ronald Reagan.)
It’s HOT here, in TX :-)
At least some parts of the state are a dry heat.
Actually, it was my wife who really pulled the trigger.
Congratulations, and good luck with your move. Home is where you hang your hat.
I live near Los Angeles,I am just saving to get the hell out of here.
Good luck and safe trip.
Yeah, I gathered that. My wife visited near Cedar Park and Leander last year and quite liked it. Going to rent initially, and if we can tolerate it, will find a home to purchase. Both of us were born and raised in the Central Valley, so we were used to some heat.
We are putting our house on the market in the spring and leaving California too.
My husband has always lived here, but I’m from Texas.
Not sure where we will go. I want to look at Arkansas. It’s driving distance to my family in Texas, but it’s supposed to have lots of outdoor activities like California.
Good luck! We lived in our house for 23 years, and given the spike of housing prices where we live, will walk away for a solid boast to our retirement. But was it worth it? I am not so sure.
Rainy and cool today up in Lamar County.
Escaped to Texas last March. There is something in the air out here...smells like Freedom.
You should write a book entitled ‘999 Reasons To Leave Cal’.
