Russia has blamed Israel for the downing of one of its military planes in Syria and threatened "retaliation." An Ilyushin IL-20 aircraft was shot down by Syrian air defense missiles in what has been called a "friendly fire" incident. The Russian defense ministry has claimed that Israeli jets were attacking nearby targets and purposely "used the Russian plane as a cover, exposing it to fire from Syrian air defenses."

Just so everyone knows: If Trump had not been elected President: Iran would have staked total claim on Israel/Syria border and be setting the tone for the Middle East. Taking charge alongside Putin - and Israel left with no choice but to oblige.

My favorite story is about an SR-71 during the Six Day War.

Israel was tossing up US-built AA missiles at it. The Arab countries couldn't react fast enough, let alone know it was an aircraft.

Assad is trying to drag Russia into, in my opinion. With the new truce, he was losing his position. HE shot the plane down knowingly while blaming Israel.
