If humane groups are truly interested in solving overpopulation, then their primary focus must be on spay/neuter.

This is really the best method of reducing the number of dogs and cats killed in dog pounds every year. A free or near free spay and neutering would allow the poorest to get their animals fixed. That means communities, cities, states, or the feds must subsidize the vets who do the work.

As for Pit Bulls; you would be better off talking to a rock. The ignorance here is off the charts. One of the best dogs I've ever had is a Staffie in the PB family. She's a mom to the other 3. Great dogs but like any good dog they must be treated with respect. You can't find a dog more willing to please their human which is also why they are so easily abused and made to be mean. I'd like to see the people who do that put in prison for the expected life of the dog. Ten years will do.

Numbers lie.
Statistics are discriminatory.
News reports are twisted.
First hand accounts are largely embellished.
Hard, cold, factual data, is just too hard and cold to be believed.

Alrighty. Now that we've dispensed with that, yours is the only viewpoint left. You win!
