Parents do their kids no favors when they name them nontraditional names. A study conducted using identical resumes with nontraditional names and traditional names proved that responses to traditionally named applicants was many times that of nontraditionally named applicants.
If my name was Planitia Thompson I’d change it to something else. My sister was named IngeGerd, a Middle Ages Swedish name. At 61 she couldn’t take explaining it to every clerk she handed her ID to so she changed it to Ingrid.
