Taos District Court Judge Sarah Backus released all five defendants charged with abusing 11 children at a compound near Amalia, New Mexico during a hearing Monday.
Two of the children – one 13 years old and another 15 years old – have already provided crucial information to authorities about their lives at the makeshift compound.

The witnesses said Abdul would choke and foam at the mouth during the rituals, which are described in a book found at the Amalia compound, titled “Sword Against Black Magic & Evil Magicians.”
During a ritual conducted in February, one child witness said the toddler’s heart stopped.
After the toddler’s death, one of the child witnesses said the body was ritually washed and wrapped in cloth, according to Islamic custom. The remains were then moved around the camp until they were finally placed inside a 100-foot tunnel investigators found at the property last week.”

I am of a mind that when these judges pull stunts like this they should be held criminally accountable if any of these people flee or commit a crime.
Once this happens, many may think long and hard about their foolish actions.
The DOJ/FBI needs to step in and file federal charges and jail these animals.

I am pretty sure this is being done on purpose, at least it feels that way anyways, because they want to have crimes to blame on conservatives and Trump.
This judge values political statements over justice, safety, and due process. She is unfit for office and should be permanently removed from law.
Just curious, but was an autopsy performed on the child. Aren’t all deaths recorded and a cause of death officially listed are do they just plant them in the back yard and forget them in this jurisdiction?
Many states have laws prohibiting concealing the death of a child. What about NM? At least this death looks like involuntary manslaughter by depriving the kid of food and medicine, something all of the adults at the compound were probably involved in. Why no charges?
Someone should post the judge’s information so people will know where to go when one of these terrorists goes on a killing spree. A big problem with judges is they are almost untouchable. They are protected from just about everything you can think of.
