A sharp-eyed sleuth snapped a picture Friday of Democratic National Committee chairman Tom Perez at DCs Reagan National airport. The former Obama secretary of labor was standing in line, carrying a travel bag that looked outside the working mans budget.
The bag appears to be a Louis Vuitton Keepall Bandoulière 55 Damier Cobalt Canvas bag, which retails at $1,840 on the Louis Vuitton website.
In Damier Cobalt canvas, Louis Vuittons iconic Keepall 55 travel bag is both timelessly elegant and distinctively modern, the company describes its bag. The historic design, dating back to the 1930s, remains as sleek and functional as ever. Spacious, lightweight, versatile, the Keepall epitomizes the art of travel.
Editors note: After publication, the DNC replied that the bag belongs to a staffer. The article has been updated to include those comments.
note: Title had to be abbreviated to fit

The ‘Rat looks like a carpet bagger.
One Louis Vuitton bag will be issued to each member of the Politburo and each regional party secretary.....
and that staffer belongs also with the Dummycraps. What a stupid excuse.
So he’s literally the bag man for his wretched political party. How fitting.
BTW, I don’t believe you, DNC. I can tell you’re lying when your lips move.
POWER TO THE PEOPLE! (and the money to me)
Seriously, who cares?
Yep. Thats how socialism has always worked. The leadership gets the best of everything while everyone else starves. You never see a skinny underfed leader of a socialist country.
So....hes carrying the bag for his staffer?
The big fag and his purty bag.
Hey the inner party gets to live like rich royalty.
Everyone knows that. :)
Its the little secret why socialism will never progress into full communism.
Yes... when you put somebody into the God-role over a society to try to make socialism go, then that person or people gets the deluxe treatment and everyone else gets the shaft.
At the least, he should have purchased a Shinola bag, MADE IN DETROIT, USA!
SHINOLA PRODUCT ORIGINS
THE FIRST THING WE MADE IN DETROIT WAS A JOB.
And thats no mistake. After four years, job creation is still the thing we’re most proud of. Since we started, we’ve hired hundreds of people in Detroit and across the country. We’ve built factories, supplied the capital and connections for key suppliers to expand their existing operations. Sometimes in order to achieve our core goals of American job creation and the rejuvenation of American manufacturing, we have to source components from outside of the United States.
Today Shinola employs roughly 530 employees, with between 200 and 250 in manufacturing at any given time depending on the production needs at that time.
We are committed to making Shinola goods with as many American-made components as possible.
If it weren’t for the party aspirations, we shouldn’t care. However, the aspirations are like “Such bags for me but not for thee.”
So he was carrying a bag for someone else in an airport? The ubiquitous PSAs I hear over various airport sound systems encountered as I travel tell me that is verboten.
So, honesty is not a requirement? /s
Besides the $1,400 for the bag! Who would spend that much for a $20 bag?
Yeah, that does sound weird.
Someone should ask, who is the staffer that has a $1,400 bag. Can they prove legit source? Receipt, etc.
Confirmed bad spender or liar, should resign. Party owns this.
Liar.
I’ll bet it is now after he gave it to him so he could say he didn’t own it.
