Thanks for posting a wonderful story that’s NOT about Trump, Mueller, Putin, or Hillary. I am a cat person to the bone, and loved reading about this little fella. I really hope he finds a home that deserves him. My little rescue girl Zizu is quite the cuddler herself, and my giant Maine Coon Bijou apparently never read the books about Coons which firmly state that “Maine Coons are not lapcats”. Some days, I feel like I need a Coonectomy just to be able to stand up!

I lost my dear old Maine Coon Olivia this last April. She was a rescue kitty and glommed on to me as soon as she saw me. That big old tabby girl is sorely missed.

My Pumper dude was not a lap cat, either, at 28 pounds. But he wanted to be one. He would lie pressed against my legs, looking up at me forlornly, waiting for me to look away so he could sneak into my lap. Sadly, he died of congestive heart failure days before Easter !ast year, at the age of 15. It's a common problem with Maine Coons, according to the emergency vet.

I inherited my Maine Coon from my BFF who developed an allergy to cats. So I got Alex (and Merlin, who was 28lbs of black bowling ball sweetness!). Alex was a little fiesty and kinda mean and would occasionally bite when he was unhappy.

He bit me one day so I bit him back. (On the scruff of the neck and picked his front paws up an inch off the ground)

He never bit me or anyone else again.

Smart cat. Sure do miss that fiesty cat.

Bijou just didn’t read the manual.
