In the coming years, virtually all of us in the conservative movement would find ourselves the targets of such smears, and without mass media outlets of our own, we were virtually defenseless against the charges our protests simply were ignored. For example, CBSs Mike Wallace asked conservative radio commentator Fulton Lewis Jr. to explain the attraction the far Right has for crackpot fascist groups in America. Thunder against the Right, in the November 24, 1961, issue of Time, featured attacks by President Kennedy, Attorney General Robert Kennedy, the Department of Social Action of the National Catholic Welfare Conference, and the Union of American Hebrew Congregations (mixing politics and religion was okay when practiced by the Left). The New York Times Magazine chimed in with Report on the Rampageous Right, or those who have a deep distrust of democratic institutions and of the democratic process a distrust, in short, of the people and who subscribe wholeheartedly to the conspiratorial, or devil, theory of history. (Unfortunately M. Stanton Evans never got around to writing one of the books he wanted to write: The History Theory of Conspiracy). Newsweek go..

ANTIFA a truly facist group is left wing!
You must have read the article. It provides a lot of historical perspective to the corruption and decades of lying by the old media monopoly.
The unbiased and objective liberal media
At the beginning, the approach of the establishment media toward the first conservative efforts was to ignore them. When the rumble on the Right became too loud to ignore, the tactic was to smear it. Some attacks were pretty bland by the standards of political vitriol America needs responsible conservatives, but these guys arent responsible or conservative. The others were increasingly nasty attaching labels to conservatives ranging from crackpot and ultra- (always ultra-) right to the Big Berthas in the liberal arsenal: fascist and Nazi.
Again, a little historical perspective is in order for todays younger conservatives. The era were talking about 1955 to 1964 was obviously much closer to World War II than we are today. And Americans were still assimilating the full extent of Nazi atrocities against the Jews, which FDR had kept hidden during the war. In this environment, to call someone a Nazi or a fascist was the ultimate exile from respectable and permissible society. And it didnt help American conservatives that the Nazis and fascists in Europe were commonly labeled the Right (even though they were national socialists, truly placing them on the Left). Sloppy or devious minds would draw up a conspiracy chart for you if you were too dimwitted to make the connection yourself: Nazis in Europe = the Right. Conservatives in America = the Right. Ergo, conservatives = Nazis.
The Monolithic Media Cartel IS our ONE TRUE ENEMY.
The media is the deep state.
Based on history I expect the next time the left takes power (Congress & presidency) there will be an all out assault on the first amendment:
1). Hate speech laws with leftist judges determining what speech and press is allowable. Not unlike the omnipotent FISA courts of today.
2). A tough “fairness doctrine” applied to restrict conservative talk radio.
3). Censorship and regulation of the internet. It would not surprise me to see a requirement that websites be “licensed” by the government.
4). Continued aggregation of media into large conglomerates allied with the progressive movement. No application of anti-trust law to media.
5). All licensing and regulation of the media administered by political appointees who reward or punish those regulated. Heavy fines levied against those who refuse to pay to play.
6). Even more rigid censorship, indoctrination and political correctness on college campuses.
7). Significant and constant and coordinated efforts to bully companies into directing advertising to support progressive ideas and political correctness. The full weight of the regulatory state, liberal courts, social justice organizations, and media thrown against any company or organization that funds conservative “speech”.
Fortunately, the new media is beating lots and loads of crap out of them.
All of what you outline is probably on the Rat books for future tactical operations,
Communist->Fascist->Liberal->Democrat->Moderate->Republican->Conservative->Libertarian->Anarchist
LEFT---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------RIGHT
I keep this on my about page. The scale for Europe is focused around communist (left) and democrat (right). This is one of the communists' greatest ploys. Make anyone to the right of them a "Nazi".
Yep, and we had no alternative.
We do have alternatives today and yet conservatives continue to fund the LEFT MEDIA CARTEL.
We do have alternatives today and yet conservatives continue to fund the LEFT.””
Indeed, we have the new modern media on the Internet and talk radio, but the rats and their leftist allies are working hard to censor it. Far as I’m concerned, I would ban the NYTimes, WaPo and several others from this site.
Viguerie.
One of the all-time greats
Yes, there CERTAINLY IS a Deep State-Media Complex!
It has been the arm of the DNC since the 50s. It is not a republican thing and republican in no way equals the slave owning Demrat party—they own it.
Good thing they don’t get hurricanes.
It’d be a literal sh*t storm.
I despise the corrupt media and believe that they still wield significant power to influence people. What makes matters worse I that both the public schools and the universities are also indoctrinating people in Left Wing principles. What’s scarier is that the internet is in many cases being manipulated by Left Wingers associated with very popular sites like google, Facebook etc.
Conservatives are being the 8 ball. We must trust people to make decision based on facts. The problem is the Left is a massive propaganda machine with fake facts and material omissions.
I believe it’s imperative to take ground in the media, take make learning institutions, and keep our eyes on the internet.
I second everything you wrote.
