Aaron Judge just made this young fan's night with a game of catch.
During Monday night's Yankees-Phillies game at Citizens Bank Park, Judge played catch with 10-year-old James Payne, according to The New York Daily News.
James was sitting with his father, Chris, in the front row in right field. They yelled at Judge in the game to try to get the slugger's attention, and Judge eventually obliged by throwing a ball to James during the fourth inning. Judge indicated that he wanted to toss the ball with James, but Chris had already put it in his bag. During the fifth inning, Judge returned to the outfield and walked over to James to play catch.

And then there is this. Judge, who homered tonight, is humble, talented, and classy. This is what it is all about. Judge is the man. Don't know what else to say...
Dittos to that! So far he seems like just a great guy, one the younger fans can really look up to. He plays the game the right way. The Bombers really took it to the Red Sox tonight.
Yes, I agree.
But I wish he hadn’t homered against my Red Sox.
What did you think of the June 7th crap at Fenway?
I’m an old guy but when I was a kid (about this age) I shook Frank Howard’s hand as he walked out on to the field at RFK in DC. I still remember that and this kid will forever.
me neither...But God has a plan for everyone....I can live with it...
Howard was about as tall as Judge. Judge, though is Mickey Mantle. (those that know me understand how mega that praise is). Strikes out, walks, homers, and is fast. Mantle was the best ever - if you take the best ten year stretch...
out of maybe 50-60 “players”...Carlton Willey and Bobbie Orr will be in my kid/adult memory till the day I die
Another RFK story.
When the Nationals franchise brought baseball back to DC they played their first season at RFK where my dad took us to, “the bigs” when we were little and we always sat in the $2.00 seats, way up high in the stands.
So I’m now a dad and I got $calpers $eats, up close, behind the 1st base dugout for my family on the first home series back at RFK. I’m sentimental because I remember being there way back when, with my dad, and my middle boy turns to me and says, “wouldn’t it be cool to sit way up there?” pointing to upper left field.
This kid is with his dad out in left center? :)
Bobby Orr was just from another planet.
I remember Frank Howard’s hand seemed huge when he shook mine. I think Micky Mantle was coaching back then. Frank is still alive and well, AFAIK.
I didn’t meet him, but I saw saw Frank Howard play for the Dodgers as a kid at the Coliseum in L.A. before they built Dodger stadium. Great times!
Everything I’ve heard about the kid makes him sound like the real deal.
Quite the refreshing change.
That kid will hang on to that ball for many years.
Now he just needs to win his first NY Yankee World Series Title, then another, and another, and another ... ;>)
I wouldn’t know Aaron Judge if he picked me in a sandlot baseball game, but he certainly has my vote for player-of-the-week. At Least!
My elder daughter used to babysit Aaron Judge. . .
How was he as a kid?
Very well behaved, but a bit rambunctious. The Judges raised good kids.
