Exactly. Yes, it’s not a good thing when government is raiding journalists, or harassing guys like Assange. Going after mere publishers is police state crap and there are a million other ways they can isolate leakers of classified information.
But none of these civil libertarians gave a tinker’s damn about Sharyl Attkisson. None...
Also, in this day and age, most classifying is done to conceal governmental wrongdoing and embarrassing activities from us. Not legitimate secrets. They aren’t hiding the location of SSBNs, they are hiding office affairs, the shocking money spent on a table, intelligence plots against some candidates for election, running guns to cartels, etc.
