"We are no longer a pageant," Gretchen Carlson, the first former Miss America to be named chair of the Board of Trustees of the Miss America Organization, said on "GMA." "We are a competition."

They are also getting rid of the evening gown portion of the competition. All of this was bound to happen. But I really don't care, as I haven't watched the show in years. I prefer the female mud wrestling videos on YouTube.
Anyway, I am curious about one thing. In this brave new PC world, if a man self-identifies as a woman, then he is a woman. Will the Miss America folks allow such people to compete? I suppose they will. That would be the logical next step.

The 4 straight guys who still watch will no longer do so. Teh gays might stop watching as they can’t snark if there is no evening gown competitions.

Does this mean totally nude?
That’s the only way to save that aging show.

Great idea because everyone wants to hear women's social and political opinions more than they want to look at them in a swimsuits.
Cosmic x-ray emitting sarcasm off.

If you stumble, if you hesitate, you can kiss the crown goodbye. Now if I’ve told you once, I’ve told you a thousand times - poise counts! It’s just as important as the others. Swimsuit! Evening wear! Talent! POISE!
(And if Miss Texas had just taped her breasts together she wouldn’t have lost points last year!)

That, with loaded political questions thrown in.
Master of Ceremonies: “Miss New York, if you could change one thing about America, what would it be?”
Miss New York: “I’d change the way we choose presidents. Our current system is biased against strong women.”
(loud applause from the audience follows)

Miss America is scrapping its swimsuit competition and will no longer judge contestants based on physical appearance, the organization announced Tuesday. Your new Miss America could be a Susan Boyle.
