LAS VEGAS (AP) — Las Vegas police say a 23-year-old officer who has been with the department for two years shot and injured a woman who had a shovel and was "acting erratically" over the weekend.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said in a statement Monday night that Officer Ondre Wills was among those responding to the incident Saturday night in east Las Vegas.

Gamble with what? No one in the video is in any danger of being harmed. The only "risk" is that she will keep wandering around carrying a shovel, babbling incoherently, ignoring the cop's commands.
She is probably drunk or schizophrenic. Those are not capital crimes. There is absolutely no need to shoot her.
If that cop can't physically grab the shovel away from her, he doesn't deserve to be in uniform. It will take her a few seconds to prepare to swing. Any adult male in decent shape could get close enough in those seconds to grab the shovel. I could do it.
Obviously, his job is to be a chicken shit pussy and shoot some woman armed with a shovel.
The situation could have been handled differently, but if you're a pos chicken, you shoot first.

I’m not saying I like it or agree with it but the cop will be found to have done the right thing in this circumstance.
I am 62 years of age with crappy knees and back and I could have easily gotten the shovel away from her without harm to me or her.
