This just in: President Kirkman will not be seeking re-election. ABC has cancelled Kiefer Sutherland’s political thriller Designated Survivor after two seasons, TVLine has confirmed.
Averaging a 0.7 demo rating and 4 million total weekly viewers thus far this season (in Live+Same Day numbers), Designated Survivor ranks ninth and seventh among all ABC dramas, having dropped sharply from its freshman averages (1.2/5.8 million).
Designated Survivor airs Wednesdays at 10/9c, with its season finale set for May 16.
ABC will hold its annual Upfront Presentation to advertisers, where its complete 2018-19 schedule and new programming announcements are revealed, on Tuesday, May 15 in New York.
The new title is “Designated Casualty”
I watched the first couple of episodes and gave up when it was turned out to be progrssive pablum and conspiracy theories.

I will admit I kind of liked it and will miss it. It seemed like it had moved on from being Designated Democrat to something that had a Kiefer Sutherland feel to it.

Yeah started strong and then devolved to druck
The premise of a strike on the capitol followed by resulting anarchy made for good viewing. But attraction had to be downhill from there and was. The writers’ leftism grew blatant while the series devolved into “The West Wing” as the plot had no where else to go. Luckily, Homeland has recovered from its coma, providing political machinations and a suffering heroine. All is not lost.

Per standard procedure, one cast member has been hidden away in an undisclosed location and will be able to continue the show even after it has been cancelled ...
Only took the first half-hour of the 1st episode to see this coming...What a piece of propaganda crap...
It was a good premise for a mini series. But like everything Hollywood, they keep squeezing until they kill it. THIS is an example of why the alt-networks will continue to beat broadcast into the dirt.
I cancelled it after the 2-episode anti-gun lecturing and ranting last season.
The series had potential, but the writers wrote it into oblivion.
And he was always risking everything on behalf of “reasonable gun reform.’ It was horrible.
