As New Hampshires moose population struggles, the state fish and game department is asking people to submit photos of moose taken in New Hampshire from May 1 to May 15, as part of its spring moose survey.
The photos help biologists monitor the health of the herd.
One family in Merrimack got an up-close photo of a moose, which wandered into their yard and right up to the window.
Resident Nichole DiVietro caught the mooses surprise visit on video and posted it on YouTube, where it has received more than 10,000 views as of Thursday night. The video shows the moose nibbling leaves on a tree across the street outside the couples Merrimack home and then walking up to the home and standing inches away from the camera.
The photos that New Hampshire Fish and Game is seeking should show one whole side of the moose, not from in front of or behind the animal, and must be taken during that two-week period because photos from earlier or later can produce misleading results.
The department monitors moose during the spring to help evaluate how many ticks the animals have, reflected by how much hair the moose rubs off against trees while trying to scrape off ticks.
These results are tabulated in the Moose Spring Hair Loss Survey. Photos may be from regular cameras, smartphones or trail cameras.
Submit photographs and learn more about the survey at wildnh.com/surveys/moose.html. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FXY_gsRB5s0&feature=youtu.be&t=5m1s
Do they know how many years we here have been waiting for that headline?
That’s the one that bit my sister.
I just happened to be in the right place at the right time to find it!..................
That’s how my sister got bit. She was just trying to take the moose’s picture.

John Kerry disguised?
I had no idea how big a moose actually was until I saw one.
They are HUGE............................
Please don’t insult the moose...........................
When my family lived near Sterling, Alaska on the Kenai Peninsula there was an enormous cow moose who lived in the woods next to our house. She stood at least 6 feet high at the shoulder and seemed to be very gentle. When we were outside she’d come over to see what we were doing and bed down about 50 ft. away and chew her cud. Even the dogs got used to her. Never saw her with a calf so I assumed she was past her breeding years. Every winter she would come right up to the great room windows and spend hours staring at my wife’s houseplants. That was a little disconcerting.
Undoubtedly, survey data will be sold to the Hair Club for Moose.
Your house. It's in my way. Move it!
Could be a FBI bot looking for Russian collusion.
Mule Face’s spy...................
That moose could just walk right thru that window if it wanted too!.....................
