Syracuse University has suspended a campus fraternity after a video surfaced of members using racist, anti-Semitic, homophobic and ableist slurs.
In the video, discovered by the Daily Orange, Syracuses student newspaper, a member of Theta Tau gets on his knees and repeats an oath with slurs against blacks, Hispanics and Jews, among others.
The schools administration suspended the fraternity, whose members attend the engineering school, after confirming the videos authenticity on Wednesday.

I thought they got caught with MAGA hats or something.
So it was a parody joke.
They would have gotten away with it, if someone had thought before putting the video online. The Frat should have known this would be taken out of context.
I think they’ve now been shut down, not just suspended.
In my college had frat (Theta Xi) which made “ANIMAL HOUSE”
look tame
They did some stunts like dressing up as KKK for Halloween
Would ice down sidewalks in front of frat, then rate people as slipped and fell
Eventually get expelled..........
Som colleges need a good Tri-Delta fraternity. /sarc
Watch “Nerds” if you want to know what I mean.
This whole article, if true, sounds like someone was trying to imitate the “Animal House” fraternity led by Neidimeirer.
Ableist. Oh what a country itll be when these university-propagandized children are in charge.
These students learned something important—the left has _no_ sense of humor, and they won’t be smiling when they drag white men off to the gas chambers.
Seven years of college down the drain!
“I thought they got caught with MAGA hats or something.”
...Nah. that would’ve resulted in criminal prosecution.
No matter the joke, there will be some snowflake somewhere who will take offense. That a single offended person can shut down a group is offensive to ME. Easily offended people need mental health treatment, not kid glove treatment.
Dear Orange Alumni:
The last 48 hours have been especially difficult for our Orange community. Like so many of you, our students, faculty and staff have expressed concern, disappointment and outrage at the offensive and appalling behavior displayed by members of one of our professional fraternities. As I told the campus community, the video was extremely racist, anti-Semitic, homophobic, sexist, and hostile to people with disabilities.
The events of the last several days have reminded us that although this conduct is shocking to many of us, it is not all that surprising to those among us who have experienced any kind of bigotry before. Despite the outrage we all share, I have been comforted by the fact that in the face of adversity, our community both on campus and beyond can stand united in rejecting hate and bias of any kind.
We are not the only college campus in the country facing some stark realities of prejudice and hate. But we will face up to these challenges and do the work that must be done to battle bigotry and to truly become the inclusive community we aspire to be.
I want to share with you the steps we are taking that I am confident will allow us to effect real change. In addition to suspending the Theta Tau fraternity and launching a comprehensive investigation, the University is taking the following actions:
We will keep you informed as we take the necessary actions to achieve our shared vision. Sincerely,
/s/ Chancellor Kent Syverud
