I have a friend who is an English teacher at a high school in Georgia. The entire English department is being sent weekly for required indoctrination training. They are being encouraged to implement this training into their classroom curriculum in the literature they select to teach and into classroom discussions. At the training sessions they are being made to practice apologizing for being white even though they have shown no signs of being racist. At first my friend thought sitting through these sessions, tolerating the indignity and just not carrying through with this in the classroom with the students would work. However now there is great fear that what is now “suggestions” will be mandates next year and their jobs will be in jeopardy if they do not fully implement.

If you look at their White Privilege criteria, Asians tend to excel beyond all others, including white people. They are really just singling out the most obvious difference and running with it.

Bshaw, this friend is a teacher, a very dedicated teacher, and one who needs the job. Shooting the administration who mandates that the teachers indoctrinate the students will solve nothing. This teacher is a staunch Trump supporter. What would you suggest he do?

Notice similar recent changes in how we're told to think about other ideas, such as "colorblindness." Now the Progressive Ideal is to be acutely obsessed with ethnic representations and whatever else that will muddle thought, divide people, and inflame resentments. It's the loving, broad-minded, inclusive way!

If these were truly "white characteristics," explain the existence of so many white leftists, especially our precious millennials (whose genetic inheritance should've protected them). I'm also pleased that you're talking about character rather than something like income or "educational level"--as if our examples would be billionaire Democrats, people who can afford to live in nice homes in big cities, and someone who just received a Ph.D. in Post-Colonial Transgender Studies. They are richer and smarter and better-looking than some lower-middle-class laborer in flyover country who works honestly, prays daily, never sat to protest the American flag, and voted for Donald Trump. How unfashionable!

This "soft bigotry of low expectations" should really get more emphasis than it usually does. That emphasis can lead people to question some popular ideas, discern the motives of the leftists, and consider better ways of thinking about life.
Years ago I had a discussion with a fellow FReeper who has since passed. We both grew up in upper middle class white communities. At the time, everyone was bemoaning, “no one gave me an education, no one gave me this or that.” We looked at each other, knowing that no one GAVE us anyone, we worked our asses off. What we were given, which was priceless, was the EXPECTATION that we would accomplish something and succeed. I did well, but I worked 18 hours a day, 7 days a week. Where was the white privilege? It was called hard work. And frankly, I know quite a few just as dedicated who were not white. They just worked hard.

I was responding to the “White Privilege” indoctrination and that bigoted-mindset being part of a larger ideology that is counter to this country. Giving up who we are, what we stand for and where we came from.
We are beset upon by ignorance and ideology, and at every turn they have new demands for us to change who we are and to hand over our God-given liberties.
Our firearms seem to be at the forefront of those demands.

Well thank you for the compliment. It is truly bizarre how the leftists keep pounding the table with absurdity after nonsense. The press is behind a lot of this or at least crucial to ginning up faux-support and suppression of stories counter to the narrative. Americans are being gaslighted to the extreme. Probably no society or culture in history has been propagandized and worked over to this level, certainly not one that at least used to pay lip service to an open society with liberty and freedom. It’s all turned into a sick dystopian joke, it took a little while but they have managed apparently* to reach a sub-critical mass of people who are not in any way amenable to facts, logic, or reason. There is no persuading someone out of a position they have not reasoned themselves into.
*It is crucual that people of good will of every faith and ethnic group or creed, to realize that the forces trying to divide us - who talk about “unity” to one group but “hate whitey” to another - are the real haters and offer nothing to this nation and never did. Their numbers are not legion, they aren’t any kind if majority and never have been. They utilize smoke and mirrors and trickery and deceipt and bogus polls and propaganda and lies and manipulation, manufactured consent, voter fraud, crooked judiciary, politicians on the take, corrupt law enforcement etc etc ad infinitum ad nauseam to make it look inevitable, that the “wrong side of history” is on you. Honest people don’t need to do that shit. That’s the tell. Everything they do (or not do) is a lie.
