Nearly 5,000 JetBlue flight attendants will start voting Monday in an effort to join the Transport Workers Union.
Ballots will be cast electronically or by phone in an election that will run until April 17.
The National Mediation Board is overseeing the election.
According to the TWU, an overwhelming majority of flight attendants last year signed cards declaring they wanted to unionize. [ ]
JetBlue was not receptive to the TWUs efforts to unionize its flight attendants.
Inviting a third-party union was a bad idea, the airline wrote in flyers and emails to staffers in September.
TWU is an opportunistic and negative third party, the corporate messaging said.

Look at what the SEIU did to Las Vegas. Say no more.
How long before we read of JetBlue’s reorganization plans?
I have to agree.
My brother worked at a large plant. They had a vote to unionize. They were warned that going union would likely result in a shutdown of the plant. Although my brother voted no, the union won. Two years later they were in the unemployment line.
Nice ending though, the city got a BRAND NEW golf course out of it!
“Look at what the SEIU did to Las Vegas. Say no more.”
I’m not disputing you...I just don’t know either way. So what happened there?
To understand you would have had to have been a regular to LV or actually lived there. The change in performance/behavior of casino employees was markedly different after SEIU took over. And for the worse.
I figured as much, thanks!
Listen, I hate unions and I hope they don't unionize over at JetBlue, which is basically a cool airline, but they should pay these stewardesses a little better.
Over 30 years ago, I made $17 an hour as a ramp agent for an airline, I was the guy you saw who drove up to the airplane after it landed to empty the lavs, unload the baggage, pump in fresh water and all that other ramp agent stuff. That was $35K a year but that was over 30 years ago!
All I'm saying is...pay those damn stewardesses more. And keep those infernal unions out.
Please elaborate. Something happened to Vegas, but I don't know what.
Flight attendants making only 1/10 of $130K ??
I think your numbers are out of date (though I don’t disagree with your overall point).
This site (link below) says that US flight attendants average $39K with a range from $23K - $82K. The major airlines seem to pay more like $50K+ but if someone works for one of the regional or budget airlines the salaries will be lower.

OK, should have looked that up before posting. I always had in my mind that stewardesses were paid sub $20K. If they are paid up to $82K then good for them! They earn every penny of it.
Well, there goes Jet Blues customer service.
What did they do?
Union scum alert
See #7 and $$$ as well.
In other words, sort of like unionized supermarkets, where long lines form at the two out of 12 checkstands that are open—versus non-union supermarkets, where all of the checkstands are manned.
"Jet Blue? Buh-bye!"
I typed in at google then clicked om Images: hot flight attendants
I agree the flight attendants should get paid more.
