Hundreds of people, many with their daughters and granddaughters, waited in line in and outside Anderson's Bookshop in La Grange Friday night for Chelsea Clinton to sign a copy of her latest book.(snip)
"I like what Chelsea is doing to highlight women," said Evalee Dumas of Darien.
Dumas said the book shows the accomplishments of women and their diversity. The women profiled have different ethnicities, but all have something to give to the world.
"I have two granddaughters and four grandsons and I certainly am going to expose them to these books," she said.
Some people came because they like the Clintons.
"The first president I ever voted for was her father when I was 18," said Heather Eggerding of Brookfield, who brought her 10-year-old daughter, Eva, and another girl, Megan Gray. "And I took Eva with me when I voted for her mother. I've been a Clinton fan for a long time."
Many came for a combination of reasons.
"I voted for her mom," said Jenna Tassoni of La Grange, who admitted she was curious to see what Chelsea looks like in person.

Anderson's presold between 600 and 650 tickets for the signing. Each ticket required the purchase of Clinton's book at Anderson's, and allowed up to four people to attend.
Clinton did not personalize any messages in the book, but she greeted each person warmly, occasionally asking questions.
"Katie Jopa of La Grange (left) says her daughter Amelia, 2, decked out in a "Girls will change the world" shirt, is getting tired as she waits for their turn to meet Chelsea Clinton."

Like the Elephant man.
Where are the pictures? I don’t see hundreds!!!
Obviously not the La Grange ZZ Top was singing about.
So hard to believe - don’t these people know what the Clintons have done?
NOT even brain dead begins to explain how someone could support the Clinton's crime scams.
Did anyone bring oats?
Is she giving away shares of Whitewater Development?
Can I ask a stupid question, and maybe get flamed??
This is an example of recent trends, to pump up self esteem of young girls, showing girls they can change the world and all that.
Is there any attempt, to have young boys read books about famous men, to want to achieve great things such as the famous men they might admire? Is there any attempt to tell boys, look at what famous men have achieved, and you are going to grow up to be a man too, similar to how we are telling young girls that they can grow up to be a Madam Curie or a Hillary Clinton?
What has Ms Clinton done with her life to merit this kind of attention?
Besides ride her parents’ coat-tails her entire life in the same way her mother rose to fame riding her husband’s coat-tails.
And that's just the flies.
Curiosity seekers who have never seen a talking pig before?
During the campaign, her mom drew hundreds too, on a daily basis (ok maybe dozens).
heck no La Grange Texas is probably smaller than the book store.
Nope, they want all boys to grow into self hating beta cucks.
The people who went to this and took their children were abusing their children.
I taught my daughter and now my grandchildren to despise politicians. Dont trust them period. Like you Im dumbfounded by people who are star struck with them.
