It's gonna be a Democrat wave in November. I think they not only take the House but the Senate. Some people keep finding imaginative ways to avoid reality.

Something that might counteract what's happening: making it clear that the Democrats want to impeach Trump if they take control. I think a good part of the populace is not fully aware of that. It would energize the base and I would think it would certainly cause people who voted for him, but who are not part of the rock solid base, to reconsider voting for a Dem. I think even quite a few squishy middle of the road types are uncomfortable with the idea of impeaching Trump. This has to be the counter attack in these kinds of districts, but the GOP professional consultants will not tell their candidates to do that.

The reality that Republican swampthings are ignoring is that they're a combination of a farce and an embarrassment to themselves. They refused to end Obamacare. They haven't funded the wall. And now they're against obviously needed tariffs. They gave up Roy Moore's Senate seat because they wouldn't defend him against bogus claims.

Blame Trump? Trump is trying to pass the issues that got them a landside and him an impressive electoral win. They disgust me. Since they aren't saving the nation, let the Dems have it. We're goin' down as a nation. We're already in a not-so Civil War, and the 'pubs are enabling it.

They need to run good candidates. The candidate matters.

Liberals have upped the intensity of their attacks the last couple of days. It is due to Trump’s decision to go after China?

Wasn’t it in Pennsylvania that judges drew new congressional districts that almost ensures a democrat win?

The GOP faithful have decided to let the Dems retake control it appears. This is not on the politicians. It’s on the voters.

a new CLF ad turns the tables and accuses Pelosi of supporting “massive Medicare cuts” while arguing that Lamb “won’t protect seniors.” As Republicans learned in the 2016 presidential campaign, the agenda backed by GOP donors doesn’t necessarily jibe with the issues that the GOP rank-and-file cares about—especially in a blue-collar district like this one.

Paul Ryan is a massive political retard for bringing this up, and the GOP is nuts for making this guy Speaker and therefore the face of GOP proposals for Medicare cuts.

Everybody keeps looking at all their reasons why Trump should be a positive for the midterms. Those accomplishments are already baked in the cake, old news and irrelevant. By November the tax cut and the rest won’t be influencing midterm voting.

Trump isn’t running. The potential problem is turnout, not policy.
Dems and ultra-libs are pissed and will turn out big.
The media will laud Dem candidates to the max and do everything possible to sink R candidates.
Some Trump voters are not really engaged on the state level, and they are unlikely to vote.
I predict Republican turnout will be lackluster. No, I’m predicting it will be lousy.

Can’t say whether the majorities in either house will switch, just saying Dems have the momentum. I don’t like any of this, but there it is.

Awash in scandal?

Hitlery’s collusion and conspiracy with the Russians was caused by Trump?

Anyone that following this story knows that Hitlery and Obama used the FBI to spy on Trump. Most of the the Dem base doesn’t know what planet they’re on let alone anything about Trump’s “scandals”

The uninformed voters don’t bother with mid-terms.

I admit to not having read the entire article, will try to digest it in smaller bites.. It's a great concern to me. I fear we won't be given the time to complete what Trump is trying to achieve to reap the benefits of better policy before the Democrats succeed in upsetting the applecart again.

Saturday night I listened to financial gurus I respect, Larry Kudlow and then Sunday, Bob Brinker on Trump's tariff position. To a man, they think it is a bad idea, guests included. And I knew Brinker leans to the left at times.

Mr. Brinker had a guest, Lawrence or Larry, didn't ever catch the last name pronunciation or even "sounds like", Boston University, economics something. He started in on Trump is mentally ill on several levels. Trump is dangerous. The tariff idea is terrible and how it went for Hoover and the depression. Trump needs to be impeached (at least twice). Sent back to NY. Then capped it off with being in Boston, the flooding and proof of global warming.

I haven't found a video of the exchange, haven't looked very hard. Mr. Brinker didn't challenge a word of his far-left rant. Neither did Kudlow who is usually totally supportive of Trump.

I applaud what Trump is trying to do. Should have been prevented long ago by both Republicans and Democrats. Even at the time I felt we were being betrayed; China by the Clintons and NAFTA by GWB, and far more. And I have a personal stake in the Mexican trade deal but am willing to look further than my own personal stake and what is or would have been best for the country.

So how do you propose to get through to the populace? Nobody will listen because they are in such mind fogs with their cell phone addictions, FB, MSM, sports, gender politics, Democrat temper tantrums and propaganda (I know maybe Trump has a few temper tantrums, too, and refuse to look beyond their own selfish interests, or what they perceive as such, and then accuse people like me of being incapable of critical thinking, all forms of insulting Trumpisisms, and what we've all come to expect.

Even those damn MSM sypophants must have seen increases in their paychecks but have to tow the party line. And the damn alphabet news media are corporations, no? Surely they will benefit from the capital gains tax cut.

I’m trying to be clear-eyed about this. On the one hand, Democrat rank and file are furious and want Trump impeached for winning an election they believe he had no business winning. On the other hand, the DNC is broke and the RNC flush with cash.

GOP voters always turn out in midterms. Are they paying attention to these special elections? Will their turnout be able to match Democrats’ in November?

The only thing I really care about is holding the Senate as that means we can keep stocking the federal judiciary for another couple of years. Hopefully Darth Bader Ginsburg dies, and we can replace her. If the Democrats take the House and impeach Trump but the Senate stops it there, hopefully that’ll finally be enough to remind voters in 2020 that these communists mean business and need to be tossed out in droves.

Trump didn’t put them here. The Republicans failing to support their own platform caused this.

Trump is becoming more popular and his opponents are looking a bit silly parroting all the Russia fear-mongering. The economy is humming right along despite all the chicken littles. PC and snowflake culture is wearing mighty thin. I just don’t see a blue wave. I see some pushback but I don’t see widespread dissatisfaction with Trump’s performance. I do still see GOPe interference and footdragging which is the real threat to Republican electoral success.

Realistic Problems:

1. The Russia probe drones on and on (as they intended) and shows no signs of ending (as they intended). It’s just bad headlines, and of course I don’t believe Trump colluded with the Russians, but the relentless negative headlines trying to imply guilt may have an impact.

2. The “chaos”. I said early on (as in during the transition) that Trump was putting some people in place who clearly didn’t agree with what he ran on - establishment people. That has proven to have caused problems with a lot of staff leaving. Rex Tillerson, for example, doesn’t seem to jive with Trump (not shocking at all because he was recommended by Condi Rice). Gary Cohn is another example, and he’s now gone. McMaster purged the NSC of the pro-Trump people - don’t know whether he stays or goes.

Plus, you have cabinet people who get caught doing stupid things like Shulkin, Carson (who I still love) with his dining room set, Pruitt, etc. Do I think the media would have dug into the cabinet like this if it was a Dem President? No.

However, the relentless negative news likely takes its toll, and they can portray Trump as corrupt by reporting on every little detail and Obama as scandal free by not reporting on or minimizing scandals.

3. The failure of the GOP to get things done they promised like repeal Obamacare and replace it with something better, the wall, infrastructure, etc. Some spend more time infighting and virtue signaling than getting things done (not all of them - there are some great ones up there).

I read a piece where a woman was talking about supporting Lamb over Saccone (she voted for Trump - believe she was a Dem). Anyway, she’s concerned over healthcare, social security, etc. and it’s leading her back Dem. The truth is that in order to keep those working class voters, you can’t just repeal Obamacare without replacement. That was as popular as a lead balloon last time, and that concerns people.

Er, did you miss AZ Lat week and TX yesterday? You mean red wave, right?

Where Ds have won-—outside of FL state house seat-—it’s been with record low turnout. CT house seat D won by 51 votes with TOTAL turnout of 3000. GA senate seat=9% turnout.

These local/state elections are viewed as a nuisance by our side.

Saccone may lose, but don’t buy “blue wave” tripe. AZ and TX are better indicators of the real blowout that is coming.

"underscores how even in a district where Second Amendment support is strong, gun control has become a fresh rallying cry for a supercharged Democratic electorate post-Parkland"

Speaking as someone who lives in this district and will be pulling the lever for Saccone next Tuesday, I can tell you that Lamb has been completely mum about any real issues. He's trying really hard to run as a moderate. The only thing that he claims is being a Marine and a Federal prosecutor who put drug dealers behind bars.

I've gotten a few mailers from groups like the NRA and others who have sent surveys to the clients. Lamb won't even answer questions on whether he believes in a ban on assault weapons or restrictions on abortion. Why? Because he does believe in them and wants to snow the voters here. Meanwhile he had an add where he was doing what? Shooting a semi auto rifle.

I don't know what the outcome will be but the fact remains that Lamb is trying very hard to hide his leftist beliefs because if they were known he'd lose in a landslide. I don't know what the results are, but this neck of the woods, Trump has not lost any support. Its just that people here have jobs and work to do. They don't have time to go out and rally this or march against that like the leftist do. You watch, that rally that Trump is holding on March 10th will be well attended.
