According to the Federal Statistical Office (FSO), Germany exported £44.6billion (€50.5billion) more goods into the US than it imported from there – up from £43.1billion (€48.9billion) in 2016.
It is the latest evidence of a growing gap between what Germany has been exporting to the US than it imports there.
In 2000, the export surplus was reported to be £12.9billion (€14.6billion) and since the turn of the millennium the surplus peaked in 2015 at £47.2billion (€53.5billion).
Last year, the US was largest buyer of German goods with exports from the EU powerhouse totalling £98.4billion (€111.5billion).

An idea to blame other countries over trade disbalance is so stupid. Are Germany and China supposed to say they are sorry or what?
I don’t buy their crap. If they are stupid enough to invite so many rapeugees then German engineering can’t be as smart as they say it is.

You missed my point completely. Trade deficit is a bad thing but last thing to do is to complain to those have a trade proficiency with you. You should bring incentives to exporters and impose tariffs on importers instead.
Old deal isn’t what the new deal is going to be. Offering the Luttifisk in your pantry isn’t going to cut it. Helmets with horns neither. Reciprocal trade. Fair trade. That or FO.
Disbalance is so stupid? You maybe suffering from disbalance, but our trade deficit has a negative imbalance.
There are several reasons for a trade deficit, and they include one way tariffs, gummint subsidies, forced cheap labor and stealing of company intellectual secrets.
President Trump says that he will even the trade deficit by imposing tariffs that equal the tariffs that we face.
Why is that so difficult to understand?

We have subsidized Germany’s economy since the end of WWII. Way past time for this to end.
