This was a local story where I come from. I had to chuckle when the anchor of the local TV station actually pronounced the word as 'nekkid', not 'naked.'

Well...in the South, that's likely the correct pronunciation.

"Naked", describes someone who is unclothed. As in, "I needed to be naked for my yearly physical."

"Nekkid", describes someone who is unclothed AND up to something. As in this story.
