As somebody who studied the industry that seeks to manipulate all of us on behalf of paid interest, I know that few themes arise in our environment organically. A noted propagandist told me "its like a movie" he said. "Nearly every scene or image that crosses our path in daily life was put there for a reason, often by someone who paid alot of money to place it there."

Nice easy listening 9:41 speech bt Sharyl Attkisson on her study of the orgination of the "Fake News" term

I listen to radio in the afternoon: townhall and foxnews have tons of fake news skits. ALL radio news should be preceded with a “paid sponsor” disclaimer.
How Fake Is "Real" News?
The power to ignore was never more obvious. We have solid evidence of an attempted coup at the highest levels of the FBI and DOJ which is not even covered last night on conservative Fox News but they DID spend MOST of the hour talking about an obscure WH aide who gave his ex wife a black eye ten years ago.
I have been calling Fox News: 'Faux News' nearly as long as the lefties have.
Their "Fair and Balanced" has always been more accurately:
"Slightly more fair, and somewhat more balanced than the other Mainstream news outlets."
And it has only gotten worse since Rupert turned it over to the kids.
________
........ beautiful.
I left the country for a 4 year deployment. When I returned the bias was glaring. Once you see it you realize the evening news is propaganda from beginning to end. It turned me from a slightly left Democrat into a farther right than Rush Limbaugh in weeks. I was (and still am) furious.
ABC is owned by Disney.
Other studios own other news networks.
They promote their products (movies, tv shows, books, and music) without disclosing their financial interest in pimping these wares.
Many “medical breakthrough” news items you see on local news are canned productions provided by some drug company as “news”. They are merely press releases. You can see the local talking head reading the same script used in each city.
Even in newspapers, if you don’t buy an ad, you won’t get your event(s) covered. Even if you DO buy an ad, you may not get coverage (before or after). That’s their excuse when they say you AREN’T buying news stories.
NewsCorp execs endorsed John FTA Kerry in 2004.
What people fail to understand is that WWE is a parody of 60 Minutes and Dateline and What Would You Do and similar magazine programs.
The producer or some other person (usually off camera) writes a script and coaches some, but not all, of the players in a game of Let's Play a Fast One on Joey or of Let's You and Him Fight. See Games People Play by Eric Berne, Games Alcoholics Play by Claude Steiner, Games Community Organizations Play by Bob Schmidt. Those books describe the way the games are played.
I've sat in numerous Alinsky Organization meetings where the media and the Organizers negotiate the spin of the story. In some cases the Organization has a great story that is desirable as an exclusive by one network. In other cases the Organization wants desperately to get a non-worthy story on TV, usually to prop up the ego of one of the Leaders.
Depending on the law of supply and demand, one side will agree to provide a young hot babe to sleep with a guy on the other side in exchange for getting what they want. I've seen young hot on-camera babes and young hot interns sleep for a story. And more often, some young, hot welfare mom or community organizer sleeps with an old Harvey Weinstein type power figure in exchange for the story.
The “Fake News” term arose with major media trying to control the flow of informations. Once it was advanced, it was so obviously applicable to the MSM that it boomeranged and began to be applied to main stream media obvious propagandizing.
The propagandizing came about because the media saw the administration of Obama and the candidacy of Clinton as a double failure with a sea-cahnge about to occur in voting and in a larger sense, the culture. The panic hit them and left leanings and prejudices became advocacy and weaponizing of those that relied upon their world view.
The public revulsion toward Fake News from the MSN became worse as they actually tried to control the election and the culture. Public perception was that it was manageable to read and listen through general bias but not acceptable to put up with organized bias meant to subvert the election and the weaponization of all information flow.
Obama administration legal and intelligence staff was likewise mobilized by the progressive forces seeing the public mood. They went to war against the people in general. The blatantly biased in political and administrative roles began to act out their control fantasies. Cabals, secret schemes, and criminal frame-ups went into action. The public saw this all and those on the battle lines began to mount a counter attack.
in 2004, CBS News and AP broke a fake news story (October Surprise) about (forged) National Guard memos that “proved” GW Bush was AWOL. In 2000, the popular vote was lost to Al Gore because of an election eve release of his decades old DWI arrest. He lost the popular vote by 0.51% (half of one percentage point). Dan Rather wanted to sit on the memos for maximum effectiveness but AP was going to run them in print so he took to the airwaves.
No one ever went to prison for trying to “influence” the 2004 election with fake news. Time-Lies-Warner-HBO even produced a revisionist history promoting the idea of “fake but accurate” rather than pointing out the BullStalin propaganda of the MSM.

This is also the tactic the press was doing when they colluded with one another on the talking points via Journolist. Hundreds of so-called journalists were members. They would determine who would ask what question at press conferences with the president, what the talking points would be, etc.
I doubt they’ve stopped the tactic, they’ve just moved deeper underground. And most of the public is unaware it was ever exposed or who all was involved.
I agree. I do think panic is the correct word. Panic is how you get to things like insurance policies.
The list of demonicRAT operatives who are married to fake news media execs is staggering.
Answer . . . Google CEO Eric Schmidt, for the purpose of discrediting conservative news sites.
Ping to Sharyl’s List Upchuck. :)
