This is really sad. It made me wonder......will people ever buy a house where someone inside has been dead for years??? It’s not the same as someone dying surrounded by loved ones. My husband & I had a debate over the, Would you live in a house where someone was murdered?” I said emphatically NO while my husband said yes. Just no way.

Probably. If the price is right.

According to my realtor - a seller must disclose if someone has died in the home. You are not required to disclose if your house has been burglarized. Buyers and their agents should also do ‘due diligence’.

Rules may vary by State of course.

Financially, if you could get a fantastic house for half price due to a ghastly murder having taken place there 40 years ago, I’d want to. But spiritually, I couldn’t. I have had those vibes hit me walking into a place where something bad had happened and I didn’t know it. But I was so creeped out without knowing why, that I had to leave and make my companion leave. So no, I couldn’t take advantage of that discount.

I don’t believe the smell of death ever goes away. I have seen houses where the person died in bed and lay there in the heat for days if not weeks. Awful.
